How many recall NIU losing in OT to Akron 48-45 in the regular season during 2005 season and again in title game?

Lord send me to hell some day but spare me from traveling in a parallel football universe in 2010.

We play Temple this Saturday, NIU destroyed Akron last Saturday.
I dont get it. *confused*
I think he means since we are playing Temple this Saturday, he expects the same to happen this year, but replace Akron with Temple.
yes to not wanting to envision temple repeating the two akron games of 2005.

Let's not even think that way. No negative vibes!
I remember listening on the radio. Most bizarre NIU game I can remember. We abandoned the run and Horvath, that's right, Horvath threw for like 500 yards and Britt Davis, that's right, Britt Davis had a day and we couldn't stop them. What a weird collection of events.

It all changes with the exact opposite type of football game on Saturday. A grind 'em out, hard hitting, defensive affair where to's and our ability to throw the ball a little bit make the difference. 3 pt Huskie victory.

The score was 48-42.
Saturday is a big time statement game in the MAC. A big time statement game.
I was at both games against Apron in 2005. The victory last Saturday was bitter sweet for me.

Saturday is the biggest game of Jerry Kill's tenure at NIU. We need to win this game and win it convincingly.

I echoed this sentiment in the other thread. This is a game, when you look back on it, that might define Coach Kill's career/resume at NIU. It is without a doubt a statement game. NIU has the home advantage and is playing in front of a hopefully raucous crowd. Victory need not be convincing to be sweet as long as we sit victorious at the end of the day all will be well.

Why was it bittersweet?
Let NIU/2010 be Akron/2005 and Temple/2010 be NIU/2005

Let's destroy them convincingly on Saturday and at the MACC!

After all it is a home game for us against Temple in 2010 while 2005 was @ Akron

As long as we win it will be a good victory. But it would be sweeter if we pound them. 04-cheers
I won't jump ship if we come up short Saturday, but it is time for us to win a game like this.

I don't believe it'll be a crazy crowd. The MAC screwed that when they made it an 11 am kickoff. It'll be like a library in HS for most of the game. Hope I'm wrong.
On the broadcast Saturday Baker said they were really encouraged by the presale for the Temple game.
11am games SUCK!!!!!!!!! period.
I don't see ANYTHING wrong with an 11 AM kickoff. It's our only home game that early the entire year. The fans will be there. It doesn't get much better than tailgating before noon. Should be a nice warm up for homecoming.

The weather is going to be absolutely ideal for Temple, warm and dry. Its killing me to not be able to attend this game!!!!!
