The news we have all been waiting to hear for 10 years...

Impact on MAC if Toledo is replaced by Illinios St.

-Low level MAC BB school replaced with solid MVC team.

-The MAC loses team #2 from the Toledo market and replaces with a team in a new Illinios market. +1 for the MAC.

-A Tier II USNWR school (Toledo) replaced by a Tier I USNWR (IL St).

-MAC East/West divisions more defined. The west would consist exclusively of IL, IN, MI schools while East is OH, NY.

-A non-conference rival for BG. Having UT in another conference would help BG much like Marshall moving to CUSA did for Ohio.

-Recruiting. Toledo's ability to recruit MAC territory would be more limited playing in CUSA.

-Sounds like a win-win for the MAC.

When was he off?!
We can't afford to lose Toledo. If we do we lose the entire Detroit market.

It is KC. You should know by now he has no clue as to what the hell he is talking about. Toledo isn't going anywhere.
I think we need 13 cross reference sites (one for each MAC team) so that when K.C. posts something we have a site to do an 'instant verification'.

And, of course, the big story is a hoop recruits. :)

So much for K.C.'s misleading, senationalized thread titles.
The CUSA thing is merely a ruse to deflect attention from the Big Ten offer. Currently we're weighing that against the one from the SEC, but the MAC has hopped into the fray with a huge dollar figure that I'm not at liberty to disclose to keep us in the MAC. When you see the real facts as I've laid them out here you understand why AKC is so out of touch. Been nice knowing all of you- we'll probably try to give you the odd money game every now and then....
Can we rename 05-stirthepot to :akc: ?
Wait, I thought the SEC wanted them!

Crap 01-rivals Does this mean Akron will have to sign a letter of intent to stay in the MAC or pay millions :bcs: to leave? 03-banghead

Albany is the new Akron. Good luck in the Sunbelt, Zips! Massive realignment is finally upon us.

To discuss the advantages for the MAC if Toledo decided to eventually leave the conference.

Airport KC in jail?

-Court is this Monday, so I'll have 1 more Saturday of football before sentencing.

-I've hired the dad of the kid who played Rufus to be my attorney with assurances of a pro Ohio resolution.

I know this was just an attempt to be playful, but why do people keep on bringing up Illinois St. on here?

They wouldn't be much of an addition. We don't need any more bottom-feeder football programs in this conference. Illinois State doesn't even compete well on the lower level, they wouldn't do anything in 1-A.

"Their" market is filled with UofI fans. For their three home games to date they've had an attendances of: 5,417 vs. Missouri St., 4,042 vs. Central Missouri St., and 7,514 for an in-state rivalry game against Southern Ill.

While they have recently gotten better in basketball, they still haven't received an NCAA tourney invite because they have played weak non-conference schedules to pad their win column.

If you want to look at someone with a good basketball and football program then look at Northern Iowa. They're also pretty good at wrestling. UNI seems to have a very well-rounded athletics dept.

Either way, if we're going to add someone for football let's not settle...let's be aggressive and go after Army or one of the better SBC schools. If we have to reach down to the 1-AA level, then reach down to someone who has won championships on that level, has a fanbase, and new market (i.e. App St.).

There are none. Period. End of discussion.

I guess that means you won't be coming to Huskie stadium anymore, we'll have to play you at the Glass Bowl or Soldier Field.
