ULM men’s basketball head coach Keith Richard announced today (Monday, Sept. 20) the hiring of Robert Lee as an assistant coach with the Warhawk men’s basketball program. The appointment of Lee is pending final approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.

“We hired a good coach today,” said Richard. “Robert has 14 years of experience in the Sun Belt Conference and we are fortunate to get someone of his caliber at this time. Robert is an excellent addition to our staff.”

Lee joins ULM after being the head coach at UL Lafayette for the past six seasons. In his first year as the head coach of the Ragin’ Cajuns, Lee led the program to a Sun Belt Tournament championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Under Lee’s guidance, UL Lafayette had six players named All-Sun Belt, including the 2009-10 conference player of the year, Tyren Johnson.
