16-7 NIU. Bad red zone offense early on for the Huskies.
22-7. Kicker missed x-point. Our kicking is very questionable this year.

UB up 28 to 13 in the second half. It's going to be a long season with a lot of growing pains for the BG faithful - most of whom are fully prepared for this.

Its tough to find positives today other than our defense forced some turnovers. I was hoping to pull it out ( missed short FG with no time left and BG loses 28-26 ) but it would have been a steal. Buffalo out played BG most of the game. Oh well, young guys are getting experience.

I should add the Defense was out there all day and did reasonably well. they gave up a lot of yards but do show some positive signs. Offensively we had nothing today.
29-7 NIU. Interception run back for TD(26 yards).
29-14 NIU. 73 yd run for Akron to the one and scored from there.
Kent St disappoints again. I keep on believing they are turning the corner and continue to get disappointed. Miami is improving, they may be more improved than first suspected..

Everything is setting up for Temple - NIU next week in DeKalb..... Preview of Detroit?
36-14 NIU

They were finally WRAPPING up the ball carrier. HUGE improvement! The D was getting gassed because the QB play was not good at all.

Shilz might have been the difference today. The offense acts completely different with him in the game.
43-14 NIU
50-14 NIU.

Akron losing by 36 at the beginning of the 4th quarter.
This was a telling week for the MAC. Temple and NIU after 5 weeks now are looking as the top two teams this year. They had been the best from week to week. After those two there are a lot of mediocre at best teams and some horrible teams. Pretty safe to assume NIU and Temple will have two MAC bowl slots. Preseason over hyped contenders CMU, Ohio and Kent State are a combined 1-4 in the MAC. Miami looks like a legit contender for a bowl after this week.
CMU was horrible today. Pathetic display. No emotion at all.
While BSU fans are in no position to assume ANY win, there is a possibility of starting out 3-0 in the MAC with WMU for homecoming followed by EMU.
Inexcusable home losses for CMU, WMU and Toledo today. the MAC West is bad. The East isn't much better.
I still can't believe the CMU/BSU game.

I'm not even sure that we're as good as I think. I don't know what to think anymore.

Miami only has 2 more games on at home Ohio and Temple neither of which are easy.

The only game remaining on the Miami schedule that is probably a lock for the Redhawks is Akron. BG, Buffalo, CMU, and UC are on the road. Maybe the Redhawks squeek out 1 more win.

Miami looks like 5-7 at this point all things considered.

Toledo's offense played horrible. A ton of penalties, and several dropped passes. Toledo was just 1 of 14 on 3rd down conversions, and Eric Page dropped a first down inside the Wyoming 30 yard line on a 4th down play late in the game. As bad as Toledo played, the still should have won this game, but couldn't execute. Wyoming scored 17 points off of either turnovers or trick plays. The Toledo defense played really well and really only gave up one sustained drive for 3 points, while getting their 2nd safety of the season and already their 10th INT on the season.

I still stand by what I have said all year about Toledo. They're not a bad team. They will make some noise in the West this year, but they are young and will make mistakes. Next year is Toledo's year to be back in serious contention in the West. We only have 4 or 5 seniors that play a significant amount of the game. I believe 1 starter on offense and 2 starters on defense are seniors. That's it.

I'm hoping they play the Wyoming game again when they face us, and not the Purdue game.
