That video is going to make some eyes sweat, Miss J.
I'll never forget when a neighbor was thrown out of their house about 5 years ago because of foreclosure. A family with 3 children. The company watched for them to leave out for work and then unloaded the house into the front yard. I tried to keep the vultures from going through the stuff with pleas of asking them to wait until the family had been able to get what they wanted. A woman (another term is more appropriate) that lived across the street from me told me to go to hell as she walked a grill then other belongings to her garage. That lady that went to church every time the doors were open will find out what hot is when she hopefully dies a very long and agonizing death.
Holy cow. And a military veteran to boot. Unbelievable.
It's tough times folks.
I wonder if he tried to work with the bank itself. 9 out of 10 times the banks will work with these people to try and find a solution.

I know I'm going to get killed for this, but stuff like that is unfortunate but I have been told ever since I was little the life is "tough". Just another example. Almost nobody looks out for you except you.

And God.

Life is indeed tough. Remember after 9/11/01 when everybody was really nice to everyone else? At work, in traffic, in restaurants. Everyone went out of their way to make fellow citizens' life better in some small way.

That lasted about 6 months. As soon as people realized their life savings took a nose dive. Today, it really is each person for themselves. And it's a shame.
Put me in the uofmcamero camp. It's life. Life is sometimes tough. Doesn't seem like he really deserves what is happening to him unlike 99% of the other people that caused our economy being in the shape it is by 'buying' houses well beyond their means, but he also comes across as a little ignorant, thinking bankruptcy cures all ills. Nope, not by a long shot. He should have tried to work with the bank.
A neighbor of my family lost his house. He was also a WWII veteran, cared for a very ill, housebound son for 25 years, good people. It was really sickening to see a few of his neighbors and total strangers come to steal his belongings off the street. Some of my family stood out in front and tried to shame them out of it.

If I had known about it the day it happened, I would have stood there and dared them to cross my path.

That is truly a sad story tigertommy. Life is indeed hard, but I feel our responsiblity as a human is if possible help your fellow man if at all possible. With unemployment at almost 10% percent (which to me is a joke for how many people have stopped looking) it is simply the right thing to do.

Very tough right now. I own a small business, but with no employees. If I had employees with all of the new taxes coming down, I'd shut the door.

I'm looking at one option to start/purchase a new business sometime mid-2011, but I'm perplexed (as is my tax advisor) as to some of the new costs hitting the fan that would impact potential employees due to Obamacare...needless to say, it's making life a bit challenging when it comes to calculating payroll costs on my pro forma financial projections.

You'll be fine as long as you don't have 50 or more FTEs. We will begin figuring out how to get under that number sometime in the next year because the obama care tax would really hurt.
