Only 2 to lose faith in Mick? Hardly. I might be closer to that demarcation line than you'd think. Come to the meeting last Sunday and you'd be in a much better position to evaluate my views.

For whatever reason some will use any topic tangentially related to basketball to begin in on this. If you got something new, by all means...The schedule being released news turns into a coaching style rant?

Don't know about the toothbrush sharing thing (not that there is anything wrong with that, of course), but watch it Spike or that little annoying dog from the cartoons is going start bugging you to see if you want to chase cars or beat up a cat or something.

You and Chatter don't seem to get it. It's one thing to have an opinion on Mick. Everyone has a right there. Where the problem is, posting it in every single thread. All talk about a committment, the schedule, or whatever, seems to end up in a Mick-bashing session.

Just keep it on topic. It's pretty simple. That's all Rath is saying, and that's all I'm (and other mods BTW) saying.

I apologize for starting the whole thing on another thread, but I think it's legitimate to talk about it.

Going into the season, it looks like we have a favorable OOC schedule. And this is the year that Mick needs to drop all the bs and get around to playing his style of ball (whatever that is), and start running a winning program.

I would be pleasantly surprised to see that happen, but am extremely unoptimistic that it will.

It just happens, that's the part you don't get. Why don't you take a look at the politics board. You'll see how just about everything goes back to democrats destroying everything. How about splitting off those threads? If you understand why it happens there, then you should understand why it happens here.

First of all, I don't participate in the Political Forum on a regular basis, so I cannot comment on why everything comes back to "the damn Democrats". But, I guess with all the crap a Dem has in this thread, it would go a long way towards explaining things Just kidding B, both parties stink up the great outdoors. Besides, if I blame the left for disrupting threads, I have to also blame your right-wing redneck sidekick. If you have problems with the Political Forum, I'd suggest you take it up with Eastside_J (or maybe gruehls).

Also, the last thing I'm going to give a damn about is how the Kentucky board goes about its business.

As far as Rath, I don't recall him ever interrupting a recruiting thread or a schedule thread to let us know how he couldn't wait for the Bearcats to rid themselves of "Leonta". If he did, it's my bad. Let me also point out that none of us "rush to his aid". Rath can take care of himself.

It's a clear problem when there is a thread about a committed recruit, and someone (I'll let you guess) chimes in with (paraphrasing) "Oh, I can't get excited about recruiting anymore when we have a coach who misuses and cannot develop players (blah blah blah...)" Sometimes I let these damn things play out, but others turn ridiculously on a dime. If someone doesn't care about UC getting a committment, don't comment in the thread about it. Hell - don't even READ it for all I care!

There's about ten minutes of my life I'll never get back.

By the way, this is the second time I've split a thread out of the original. That's right! In two short days, the "2010-11 Full UC Basketball Schedule is Out" thread now has a grandson.

I've let my opinion of Mick, or specific decisions Mick makes or his coaching decisions many times and have not felt ganged up on like some seem to.

There's a time and a place is the point. And a discussion on UC's schedule isn't it.

I think you missed the point. I don't have a problem with the politics board. I understand how they feel. They feel the democrats are messing up big time. I get that. I just think the same rules should apply to all topics or at least produce a list of people and things we can b!tch about non-stop and the ones we can't.

UC plays well and the story changes, that's how it works.

I'm glad you that it takes two. If you look at these so called hi-jacked threads, you'll notice that rath is usually lone voice complaining while the rest of us are having a dialog. Yet his lone voice gets thing shut down or moved.

Now... if you really feel that rath gives a damn about the schedule thread being interrupted or a recruiting thread being interrupted, for you, I won't mention micks name until at least the start of basketball practice.

And the basketball schedule thread is way down the page. You're making a fuss about the thread when nobody really cares about it.

I have to say that I am annoyed by chatter and b's constant sniping at Mick. HOWEVER, I find it extremely ironic that Rath, he of etrernal pessimism and doom and gloom has decided that he is tired of others pissing at Mick. I think Gruehls put it best once, he basically said that Rath of all people is not qualified to tell people when to calm down or stop bitching.
