I am as embarrassed as any one about the OSU game but what worries me more is what every team we play the rest of the season learned from the game. I have a feeling a lot of the plays OSU ran Saturday will be added to the game plan of our opponents for the rest of the year. A game like that is a primer for how to beat Tulsa!! Tulsa obviously has to change their defense to overcome the weaknesses exposed this weekend. If not they are going to see it every week for the rest of the year!!!
I know this may sound stupid seeing as how they lost 24-0, but did anyone watch the Penn St. vs. Kent St. game? I thought Kent's defense was really good, and wouldnt mind seeing Tulsa look into their coordinator. regardless of their pathetic offensive performance, their defense kept putting them into a position to win.
Evidently we can't recruit the type of player to play a regular defense so the 3-3-5 was a defense we could get the right players. We seem to get some pretty good linebackers over the years, why not switch to a 3-4 or get a defensive coordinator to run a 3-4. We sure aren't having any luck getting 5 corners and safeties. We just need to find 11 guys who like to hit(tackle), unfortunately not all offensive players who make the switch fall into that category!!

I completely agree, If we cant cover receivers with 5 backs, then we need to work on pressuring the QB. I would really like to see a 4 man D-line though.
I agree......if you can't pressure the QB, he is going to complete a high percentage of passes. For all I care rush every guy that isn't covering a receiver man to man. 3 receivers, rush the remaining 8 that aren't covering a receiver. Ok, rush 7 and have a center fielder. There wouldn't be any long passes that way and a lot more sacks!! I'm afraid if we can't cover man to man we will go to a zone and any good QB(even a not so good) can pick that apart all day long!!
