Quote:“In the general spirit of the way it (the CBA) was put together I felt we should relent and not have a performance situation,” Heisley said. “I don’t think I was on the right side of the issue.”

Leave it to Heisley to do the right thing and still find a way to make the Grizzlies look like even more of a podunk organization than it already did.
so did they sign
Heisley finally admitted he was wrong about something? I figured that would never happen.

I wonder if he'll admit now that he was wrong about thabeet and iverson among other decisions he has made.

It's ok to be wrong here and there, but it infuriates me when people can't admit they were wrong which is something he has been doing.
I think this is good for the program. Heisley admits to being wrong and the rookies get the deal they needed. Also, he simply admits to the same thing that everyone already knew he was wrong about. Nothing about this is bad for the organization.
Praise God. This was insane from the start and the fact that people on here and other places defended it was even crazier.

I agree. But you can still count on the Grizzly bashers to be all over this one. It will be the usual suspects.

Other than months of bad national press, more fuel to the fire that kids don't want to workout/play for the Griz, and our star draft pick not getting to play in summer league nothing was wrong.

Nothing more than any good free agents would want to play for the Memphis Grizzlies with the present day ownership. That is the big problem as I see it, and I am afraid he will move it out of the town with the same ownership intact. Having local ownership own less because of the debt on this team further contributes to how people see the Grizz. I would like the see the Grizz to suceed, but the alienation of a basketball and local fanbase is horrible in the end.
who are the grizz?

Im only referring to todays press release as opposed to none at all. I agree with the assessment that it was a bad deal overall

Hopefully with enough bashing, Heisley will relent and give majority ownership to locals. And Bham Tiger is right.

This never should have been an issue in the first place.

What can you do with a stubborn person who believes he is right until that person is proven wrong until he wakes up and realizes that? I do not know of a good solution with the Grizzlies management.
"Admits he was wrong?" I find that distrubing. Glad they signed though.
About freaking time. I'm so glad Vernon hosed him.
The person who is paying the bills is always right. May not be the best way to handle things but it's his money.

This just in Heisley admits he was wrong about Memphis and moves team. Well he admitted he was wrong so i guess it must have been the correct things to do.
Awesome development! Go Grizz!! And Go MEMPHIS!!!
Glad to see this get done before camp. Hopefully these guys can put it all behind them and get ready to contribute.
Heisley gets absolutely ZERO credit for what should have been a formality and done months ago.

This pic of Xavier in the CA article says it all. It's the contract he wanted and he still isn't sure if he should have signed it.
With the strong possibility of a lockout he better have signed the deal. I can understand his frustration but no way he was not signing.

OK, maybe not.. Looks like Tellum was going to pay him if he didn't get signed.
