That school with the football team in Chattanooga with no resources to give the rest of the athletic department is beating ETSU on a regular basis in golf. You see football takes away from other sports so they can't compete...but some how these schools are living with football and winning.

8th is a very disappointing finish for Chattanoga on a course 30 minutes from thier campus. They won that same tournament in 2008 and came in 2nd in 2009. If they come up here to Jonesbourgh next month and beat ETSU like that again I will be very impressed but don't really care. I just find it amusing that people spend time busting on golf and blaming Warren for not having football. Like the man or not he busts his ass and raises the money for his program and if ETSU ended golf tomorrow very little if any of that money would go to football.

But hey great idea lets attack one of the successful programs at ETSU.

Precisely.
Busting on golf... read the post! I was busting on not having football or are you fellas glad about that.

I'm a fan of all our athletic teams without exception...there just needs to be one more...football.
The perception is right or wrongly among many who back the return of Buc football is that Warren and Mullins campaigned for years for the demise of football at ETSU.
It is commendable to fund raise like Warren does, although there really only appears to be one major donor to ETSU golf. It is quite another to try and destroy another program within your athletic department.

Well said. And the athletic department will just not be complete without a football program. It cannot be. 1AA football. Come on guys let's get it done.

Looked like a shot at golf to me. I will reread...
Yeah still looks like a cheap shot at golf because
they finished lower then a team that still has
Div IAA football. Did I miss something?

yes... UTC has a football team. ETSU does not. ETSU executives insinuated that without football, other sports would have more resources and do better. Look at the results. Football is not hindering the golf folks at UTC. I suspect if football would return to Buccaneer country, the golf team would not suffer...Perhaps all sports would be enhanced by the return of football.
Doesn't look like a direct shot at golf to me, golfers just look like collateral damage. Shrapnel from the blast to Stanton/Mullins' face I guess.
