How about the bowl game last year bobcat...

Wow MAC schools are sad.

Every team in the BE is the potential champ til they win it. Until then, they're only "champs to be" because somebody sitting behind a computer, someone much like you and me, think so. Big deal. Fact of the matter is that you choked away a 15 point 4th quarter lead AND you're here talking smack as if you just won. THAT is what brings the sneers.
Marshall posters would lead you to believe everything has been bright and sunny from the time they dominated the MAC to the present. What they DON'T tell you is....

In four of their five MAC championships, all played in Huntington, they steamrolled the MAC West opponents by six, five, four and five points. Total Dominance? Not! The year the game was played in the Glass Bowl, the Herd lost by four. So yes, their achievements were quite impressive, but it wasn't like didn't have any competition.

Indeed, over their seven years in the MAC, they managed to be undefeated in the league only ONCE. For their final two years, not only did they NOT win the conference championship, they didn't even make it to the championship game!

So they go to the greener pastures of CUSA to move onward and upward for fame and fortune. Five years later, what do they have to show for it? A league championship? Nope. A division crown? Nope. Wins over a BCS team? Not a single one , although eight of the ten traditional MAC members their posters like to denigrate somehow managed at least one BCS victory over the same four year period. More bowl game opportunities? Yes, but only last year did they finally become bowl eligible. Over those same four years, seven of ten MAC teams went bowling. It's delicious irony their bowl reward was to play against a MAC squad.

So what are they crowing about over on this board? Two wins last year over their former MAC brethren. The scores? 17-10 over BG at home and 21-17 over Ohio at Ford Field. Wow, what dominance! Those two victories over the conference they love to belittle is pretty much the sum total of their OOC achievements in their post-MAC era.

So let's review the last four years of winning games of national significance: Marshall 0. But they do have more fans in the stands watching them be a zero; they do have that over us.
Never talked smack as if we won. Only that we were 2-0 vs MAC schools last year. However, it sucks that we lost the other night but is completely ridiculous to say that we are bad because we lost in OT to the 21st ranked team in the country. They had more depth and we gave it away. But guess what? Nobody else on our schedule will have more depth, especially MAC schools.

We are headed towards winning a lot of football games again and looking forward to it. Also, looking forward to continuing series with MAC schools. Ohio and Miami OH will be good games to go watch.

Toledo and Marshall played 7 times during Marshall's return to the MAC in late 90's early 00's.

5 of those games were in Huntington and 2 were played in Toledo.

Marshall won 4 times, Toledo won 3. Marshall never won at Toledo, Toledo won in Huntington.

Toledo beat Marshall 42-0, but that was kind of like a scrimmage, UT's offense scored 21 points and UT's defense scored 21 points. Now that sounds like domination to me.

Go Rockets!!! Go MAC!!!
