That's the number that showed up for the first game in Ga. State football history. According to espn.com, so many students showed up they opened up mezzanine seats for them to sit in. This, from a FORMER A-SUN SCHOOL that averages just over 1,000 fans a game at basketball.
Amazing what happens at traditional commuter schools who have FORWARD THINKERS, not tennis coaches and wildebeasts that couldn't hack it at App.

This along with the fact that every other state school in Tennessee is getting ready or has already kicked off the football just makes it more embarrassing for Buc fans and alumni. It seems they are somewhat smug and proud of being the only state school without football. The next two months will be tough and embarrassing to sit through. I know they keep backing the basketball up sooner and sooner but it cannot fill the void of football that all the other schools get to enjoy. Sigh....

This is what kills me. It's as if they proud that we don't have football. What idiots.

Here's some pics from the inaugural game. The passion these fans already have for their team is incredible. ESPN has been covering their journey like crazy and GSU just became relevant overnight.
