I wonder what they are paying that "consultant" for that valuable and practical advice. Whatever it is, they are getting ripped off.

If you read it, it clearly says they are looking at CUSA.

Q: We hear rumors about Conference USA and the WAC, but have other conferences come into play, like the Sun Belt or the MAC?

A: No, none that you mentioned there. We've had some consultants that have talked to us about the Big 12 conference, but I don't think the Big 12 is interested in doing anything right now. I think the conference that we're looking at is we're looking to play up, so Conference USA would fit that, and the Big 12 would fit that
It's laughable that they even mention the Big 12.
Love the comment that the writer should promote the Big XII possibility even though no one with any concept of college athletics would deem it remotely plausible.

What people don't understand is that it takes two (often more) to tango in college athletics. Just because Karl Benson was willing to trade and Tech was willing to be traded, doesn't mean CUSA had any interest nor that UTEP had any interest in being traded either. Based on the article out of Hawaii, it looks to me that CUSA wanted to assure that they weren't faced with the chance of trading UTEP for Tech because they think CUSA was the one who snitched. If CUSA liked the trade idea, they wouldn't have given MWC an opportunity to derail it.

The Big 12 consultants called Tech to see how the weather was in Ruston because they were passing through on I-20 on their way to the beach...that has to be it because there is NO WAY they want them in their conference. 03-lmfao
Van De Velde has put a call into the CUSA Carpathia......and he's sure she'll make it in time.
