I know it has been talked about a million times before but as I noticed the campus roaring back to life with a record enrollment how barren it seems without a football stadium there on campus. 15,000 students in a state university and they should have a 1AA football team out there to rally around and enjoy. It is totally inane that area fans and students cannot have this important part of college life on our campus. It is hard to believe that the athletic department cannot realize this. There, one million and one times.
I concur!
The atmosphere on campus is different now. There are lots more students on campus, they show up to events, and I think they would support a football program.
'81,

It can't be said enough. I was thinking the same things as I drove by this afternoon, just so much potential going to waste. If you really want to see sad go take a stroll on campus on a Saturday during October. It will just about make you cry. I do it at least once every year and it gets sadder every time.

Meanwhile 3 more schools are kicking off their programs this weekend. It hurts so bad to see everybody else moving forward while we slide farther and farther backwards.
It seems there is only one or two people who disagree with football at ETSU. There are a million ways to make it financially viable. A little brainstorm session and the list could grow to a million and one.

The president says he wants football...that the only reason it's not happening is that ETSU can't afford it. I'd be willing in a heart beat to start the financial campaign at a price ETSU can afford.

Yes! Let it happen administrators!I think you would be surprised at the support that would come for a 1AA football team on campus. As said above those beautiful October afternoons on campus are really, really sad.
I was watching this video just yesterday because I was thinking the very same thing and for all the nay-sayers who said ETSU wasn't successful in football then they should watch this.

Man that gives me chills.
Thanks Bucster.

Some great athletes on display there.

44 could really turn it on.

Gall Dang! Makes me wanna go smack somebody in the mouf!!!!

If you build it, they will come.

Just ask MTSU, watching their game right now. Check with Chattanooga, they are hosting App State this weekend and could sell out. They just set a season tickets sold record.
Love this video. Football at ETSU CAN be successful. Look at some of those crowds. I'M TELLING YOU, attitudes on campus are different now. I bet the students would come out....

Hell, they are going to soccer games.

This is true. Attitudes on campus have slowly changed over the last couple of years.

Can honestly tell you that ETSU is moving away from the suitcase campus reputation that it has built for itself over the decades. Students are more involved in things now than they were when I started school at ETSU 4 yrs ago. I've noticed that the campus actually has a bit of a pulse during the weekends and that students are participating in events now that they once didn't bother to show up to. It could just be a result in an increase in enrollment but I believe that the campus has built for itself more of a community feel to it.

The campus community can support a football program at this point. Attendance won't be a problem when ETSU football returns.
BTW, been seeing alot of "Undefeated since 2003" shirts on campus this first week. It's an insperational sight.
And yet another college football seasons begins . . without us.

What a terrible day to be a Buccanneer fan!
