WTF??? Some people are just sick 04-chairshot
Thanks to the help of thousands of social media animal loving fans, a British woman who was caught on video throwing a friendly cat into a garbage container and slamming the lid shut has been identified. The cat’s owners caught the abuse on their closed-circuit camera.

The video showed Lola, a four-year-old rescued tabby, strolling on the street in front of her house when a grey-haired woman stopped to pet and stroke her. Then the woman grabbed Lola by the scruff of her neck, opened a nearby garbage can, tossed the cat inside and shut the lid. The video then shows the woman calmly walking away.

It took Lola’s owners, Daryl and Stephanie Mann 15 hours to find her.

Daryl told the Daily Mail, “I came down to feed Lola on Sunday morning but couldn’t find her anywhere. It was a really hot day outside and I searched nearby alleyways but suddenly heard a tiny meowing coming from the bin.”

“I looked inside and I found her in the bin, she was terrified and covered in her own mess.”

At first Mann thought Lola had somehow gotten herself trapped, so he decided to check the closed-circuit camera. He was shocked to see what really happened to the cat.

The incident was particularly sad because Lola was a rescue cat that had been apprehensive around people when she was first adopted.

That’s when the Mann family decided to release the video to social media websites. They were sure that someone could identify the woman who was cruel to their pet. Their efforts spread quickly with help coming from websites and news outlets.

Thousands of people took part in the search for Lola’s abuser.

According to the Vancouver Sun the woman was identified on Tuesday as Mary Bale, a 45 year-old bank clerk. She was questioned by RSPCA animal protection officers, but police said they could not make an arrest because tossing a cat into a dumpster is not considered a crime.

A spokesperson for RSPCA said they are “appalled” by the abuse and called it “a mindless act of animal cruelty.”

Officials will continue to examine the case and may ultimately charge the woman with animal cruelty because of the suffering Lola likely experienced.

Although this is not the type of severe animal cruelty case that PETA often sees, the organization sympathized with the incident.

Martin Mersereau, PETA’s emergency response director said, “This landed on my desk this morning and we’re horrified. The sadists, bullies and cowards who do this post a threat to the community.” He said authorities should “throw the book” at the perpetrator.

Mersereau also offered advice to Lola’s owners, explaining how people need to keep their animals safe by not allowing them to wander around unattended.

The Mann family say Lola escaped their home through an open window.

It is not certain what will ultimately happen in this case, but it should clearly be a warning to other potential abusers that there is power in organized social media.

Outraged animal lovers put enough pressure in Lola’s situation that police have offered protection outside of Bale’s home as a “sensible precaution.”

Why would a person does this to an animal? You would not do this to a human baby, so why do this to a cat. I do not understand people at all is just what I found out.
