This would really weaken mwc overall.
Will tcu follow?
I'm starting to think BYU will end up staying after all. The signs all point to that happening at this point.

Definitely possible. That would give the MWC 11 members...cue the "who is #12 talk"
The reorganization of the MWC hasn't altered anything about BYU's reasons for leaving as far as I can see...
If the MWC can add a 12th team it maybe enough to get BYU to stay and allow the new 12-team league to organize a championship game. That could generate enough cash to keep the league's bell cows from wandering off into independence. A championship game featuring Boise State/TCU or BYU could attract a lot of viewers nationally.

In regards to the BigEast, this scenario would also guarantee that only one BCS teams comes out of the MWC/WAC since they will effectively knock each other off.

It weakens BYU's new non FB league (WAC) This is a counter move by the MWC.
All BYU has to do is put their minor sports in the WCC. The WAC wasn't their only option. Although it seems the WAC is going to try to get the $5 million exit fee from Nevada and Fresno. That could throw a monkey wrench into the MWC's plans, if those schools are required to pay the exit fee...

At any rate, BYU has options...
