Rumor has it, Bartow backed out at the last minute. Maybe due to the fact that he didn't want his home fans divided on who to root for? Omar Wattad and Josh Odem, both hometown products, who play for Chatt, or ETSU.
Wrong. UTC's coach is on VERY thin ice and he didn't want to come to JC and lose...so he backed out. Do you really think Bartow would have turned down ANY D-I home game? They almost couldn't find a SINGLE D-I game.
Definitely the make or break year for Schulman. I wish him the best...but I just don't think he's right for Chattanooga. He could probably be dangerous at an A-sun school.

Shulman is a year removed from a NCAA tournament, in which they lost there whole starting five. They had one returning player last year, and this year they are stacked with mature talent. And yes i think Bartow would back out, he is on THIN ice with the fans for his comments last year, i don't think he would want to deal with the separation that would ensue. I agree that it is a make or break year for Shulman, but if he can't win with this team, then i don't think he should coach basketball at all.
Do you honestly believe being on thin ice with the fans means anything at ETSU?
YoungBuc...what are you smoking?
So your all saying that Shulman backed out? Are we forgetting they won last year, sure it was at home, but there team was much weaker than ETSU's....
I don't have the first clue who backed out....but what I can tell you is that Schulman is fighting for his life at UTC while Bartow sits comfortably at Mullins feet.
I know for a fact Schulman backed out. Bartow is never on thin ice with our current administrators. Once again, do you REALLY think Bartow would have turned down a DI home game? Our home schedule is downright terrible.
Bartow did not back out.

I know this to be true as well.
hahaha
UTC did not want to play us this year..but they said they will come to JC next year...
Do we have a weekly award for stupid comments? Part of me thinks that something stinks here Fan1.
App State isn't on the schedule either... guess they are just too skeered too

OR maybe the available dates just didn't work out! novel idea
Some possibility that we get to see App in Cancun.

Finally found out "straight from the horses mouth" the deal about WHY Chattanooga isn't on the schedule for this year. The deal was supposed to be a TRIANGLE agreement between ETSU, UTC, and Tenn Tech... when ETSU couldn't agree on a date to go to Tenn Tech, UTC's slate got screwed, so the agreement fell through... Tech stayed on the ETSU schedule for this year.... the hope is that the dates can be set for next year for the TRIANGLE to work out...

So there you have it... ETSU's schedule didn't allow for the dates to work out for the triangles for this season, so other arrangements were made. And HE wants the ETSU fans to know that he would have LOVED to come to Johnson City this year, he loves coming to Johnson City! 03-wink
