I looked at the national rankings for our defense last year and we all know it needs to improve. In fact look at all the coaching changes on defense along with a new defensive coordinator

But the offense well it ranked 112 in scoring nationally, 88th in rushing, 108 in passing and 116 overall. And this is including Andy Schmitt's numbers and having guys like White, Jacory Stone, Mike Fretz and Steve Johnson. I noted we didn't hire a new offensive coordinator despite the poor showing.

We've talked about improvement re defense, but where is the improvement going to come in with the offense?

Good health will go a long way to improving the offense. EMU had 3 starting QBs last year, that's 2 too many IMO. A year of experience with the scheme will help too. Last year it seemed to be the middle of the season before Karcher showed any creativity with play calling. Early on it was extremely predictable.
+1 to health!

Hopefully we get some guys on the o line back and keep them there! This will be an improvement in itselt, along with having another year in the Ron English system.
Agree with all the above replies... Plus, I think some offensive weapons will emerge early.

* I think Kinsman Thomas will be a stud in the MAC before he's done and I'm hoping that he
can really shine in his second season.

* Say what you want about Dwayne Priest, but 600 or so yards behind last year's O-line was a MAJOR accomplishment. If the line stays healthy this year, with English's commitment to the run I think we could have a 1,200-1,400 yard runner in the backfield.

* We have a better than solid TE who should put up decent numbers.

* I'm interested in seeing how Julius Shelby does. He's listed at 6'4" or 6'5" depending on the website you look at and he can run. I'm sure his HS numbers would have been better had he not played alongside the Nation's best HS receiver and USC Trojan commit Kyle Prater.

* Then... It's so tempting to look at Devonte Payne and think "This kid has to be the real deal". 6'6" 230ish and an arm! But he hasn't thrown a single pass... So we'll have to wait and see.
