go to a postseason tournament, other than the NCAA or NIT, it will somehow increase the future success of your program. Granted Richmond and others seemed to have had some success following their appearances in those postseason tournament, but I'm not sure that's a large enough sample to be accurate.

If I thought by attending one of those "pay to play" tournaments would move our men's program to a higher level, I'd be the first to lobby for it, but I'm not sure it would really help that much. It's like some of those infomercials on TV. It all looks good, but the products aren't always as advertised.

However I'd say that if we have a chance to go, give it a shot at least once and see what occurs. If it actually accomplishes what some of you believe it will, then go for it. Nothing else seems to be working!04-cheers

Of course there is no guarantee that playing in one of the pay to play tournaments will lead to the Big Dance. But for evidence that it can, we have to look no further than our own women's program who participated in two pay to play tournaments (WNIT) before progressing to the Big Dance last year.

Maybe good players and good coaching also had a little to do with it.04-cheers
