I don't know... I walked by today and the outside shell of the statue base (marble or something maybe?) had been broken off and stripped down to the bare concrete blocks. Maybe they're just rehabbing it, but I saw one of the maintenance folks using a sledge-hammer to bang on the concrete blocks.
Maybe they are going to be moved to the campus Green since that will be the center of the campus.
That would make perfect sense.
