Sarcasm, jibes and Mick bashing aside please.

We have 2 commits, both of whom look like they will be here for 4 years, and at this point, also seem to be role players.

We have many on here with a lot more knowledge of recruiting than me, so I'm interested in reading your opinions who will be our remaining '11 signees.
Here are just a list of prospects that have major interest from UC and have reciprocated it.

PG:
Trey Burke
Jerome Seagers
Jeremiah Davis

SG:
Cedric McAfee
Aaron Thomas

SF:
Maurice Harkless

PF:
Nick Jacobs

Out of that list I think Burke and McAfee are the most likey.

I'd add Jabarie Hinds to that list as well. It seems that he's mentioned UC ever since Savino was hired.
Rivals now lists UC as high interest for Trey Burke along with Iowa and Nebraska. Although I'd like to have him he's probably not my first choice for another guard, but I'm not sure Mick is in a position to pick and choose right now.

Still in with Harkless after his latest cut down.

Quote:Maurice Harkless has trimmed his list to eight schools.

The 6-foot-8 Queens, N.Y. native wrote on Twitter he’s considering the following schools after spending next year at South Kent (Conn.): St. John’s, Maryland, Florida, N.C. State, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Arizona and Memphis.

I asked Harkless if that means UConn is definitely out and he said, “Yes.”

Harkless recently decommitted from UConn. Harkless was named the Most Outstanding Player at the Hoop Group Elite Camp in Reading, Pa., in early July.

He led the New York Panthers to the semifinals of the Fab 48 event in Las Vegas and was named to the All-Tournament team.

And he finished up his tremendous tour by helping the Panthers win the Desert Duel event in Arizona, beating out Tony Wroten, Quinn Cook,Wayne Blackshear and Naadir Tharpe for MVP honors.

“I can’t see why he isn’t a Top 20 kid nationally after this summer,” said Nate Blue, Harkless’ mentor.

McAfee would be flippin' huge as a sg pick up. Still wish UC could land Davis but I see him as more of a combo. Don't know much about Burke yet.

I agree on McAfee!

While he is not yet listed as one of the elite 20 for '11, he is on the ascending side of basketball life and from Memphis to boot...a very tough recruiting area for non-regional schools.

Has he, or will he be making a visit to UC?

Fingers crossed.
Hinds cuts list to seven schools.

Quote:Mount Vernon point guard Jabarie Hinds has cut his list to seven schools.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Hinds is considering Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, Cincinnati, Miami, UConn, UNLV and West Virginia.

“I only have two official visits planned in September, Oklahoma State and UNLV,” Hinds, the No. 23 point guard in the Class of 2011, said Tuesday.

“I’m going to take four officials just in case I don’t sign in the fall. I’ll have one extra visit.”

Hinds said he planned to sign in the fall but it is possible he could wait until the spring.

He says no school leads right now.

“No favorites,” he said.

McAfee is being offered as a PG by UC. His interest is very strong, but Memphis is the runaway favorite.
Per Mike Dyer's Twitter:

Davis seems to have fallen from grace over the summer.

Hinds is out. cut his list to 3, UC's not one of them.

I think UC is really going to have to recruit, Mark, John, Paul, Matthew etc.
Am I the only one who is more than a bit concerned about our recruiting of prospect for the post position?

A little bit, but I'd be much more concerned if the list of guards was nonexistent. Jerome Seagears is visiting next weekend, B.J. Young is visiting next month, and we are in the final two for Trey Burke. All very good guards.
Updated Rivals Top 150. Here are a few notables:

Guards
B.J. Young #18 (Visiting next month)
Aaron Thomas #49
Cedrick McAfee #74
Jerome Seagears #99 (Visiting this weekend)
Elijah Carter #109
Jeremiah Davis #123

By the way, Burke was #136

Forwards/Centers
Maurice Harkless #45
Amir Williams #73
Nick Jacobs #85
Shaquille Thomas #132 (Visiting today)
Jermaine Sanders #134

Ced McAfee has droped like 50 spots in those rankings. Davis did too. Odd.

Interest in UC seems to do that to recruits.
I didn't check, but maybe McAfee didn't do the summer ball stuff, or did, and had a bad summer.
At least he still gave us a mention. Many thought he'd never get an offer from UK. Well it happened today.

Behanan makes visit; lands offer

Chane Behanan had a busy day.

The Bowling Green High School star made an unofficial visit to Louisville and spent some time with the Cardinals' coaching staff. He also toured the facilities, including the new downtown arena that will open later this fall.

The 6-foot-8 Behanan also picked up an official offer from Kentucky. He confirmed the offer to Scout.com analyst Evan Daniels this evening.

Besides U of L and UK, Behanan is also looking seriously at West Virginia, Cincinnati, Texas, North Carolina and several others. His first official visit will be to West Virginia on the Sept. 4 weekend and no other dates are confirmed at this time.

More on his visit and the offer ASAP.
