The South Dakota State University Jackrabbits web site says they will be playing the Lady Trojans in the Jack Stephens Center (Jackrabbits in the Jack) on Jan 4th. They have agreed to a home and home series over the next two years. SDSU was the Summit League postseason champion last year and had a 22-11 record. They have been to NCAA the last two years and went to NIT the two years before that.

For those of you that went to the Womens Tournament in Norman last year, the Jackrabbits were the team that played Oklahoma and lost 68-57 the night we beat Georgia Tech. They looked pretty good to me.

That's a good "get" for the home schedule. Obviously the big name schools will be avoiding us, and likely teams like SDSU, like the plague. I'd like to see us schedule Wisc-GB, home and home, as well.

The Wabbits are a great program. They only recently moved up to NCAA Div 1 and have quickly made a name for themselves as one of the best ###-major programs in the country. They are always a fundamentally sound basketball team.

The Lady Raiders got spanked in Brookings last season 87-61.

Boy, that's scary. But, I'm glad we're not "chicken" to play anyone out there.
You all should do well against SDSU. They aren't into running up and down the court. Instead, they prefer a defensive style while utilizing intricate offensive sets. They were second in the nation in team GPA so you know they play smart basketball. But they don't have anyone who can stop Reed and Rolfe and Butler should be able to exploit individual weaknesses to get their own shots or find a teammate.

They are such a tough nut to crack for the Lady Raiders as our defensive pressure simply doesn't phase them. It seems like every one of their players is a backup PG in addition to their regular position. They simply don't get flustered or turn the ball over. And they are so patient on offense that Middle tends to rush things in return. We shot just 36% against them last season and were a dismal 5-29 from behind the arc.

Sucks to hear about your other scheduling struggles. The Belt really needs to improve our overall RPI and you guys will be a big part of making that happen. We need Power-6 teams on the schedule and we need to do a MUCH better job of winning games against ###-major foes from the MAC, CUSA, Southland, Summit and whatever other conferences we face off against. Do us all a favor and run the table in OOC play. :)
