JR Strowbridge. who was originally signed to be Brandon Reed's replacement. Decided not to play for ASU this season after hearing word of the NCAA investigation into our complaince office

He wants to make a postseason tourney and was afraid we werent going to be eligible. Which is funny because the investigation doesnt really center on the basketball team. but our compliance office in general

My only question is if you want to play in the NCAA's what on earth are you doing signing with a 1 bid league?

Was Reed the SBC frosh of the year ? The year before, wasn't it Freddy Assgorilla ?

Sucks that the Sun Belt's best young players are transferring out.

Who was frosh of the year before Asprilla ?
2004-05 Courtney Lee WKU
2005-06 Lekheythan Malone UALR-- left to Washburn?
2006-07 Elijah Millsap Louisiana-Lafayette-- left to UAB
2007-08 Josh White UNT
2008-09 Freddy Asprilla FIU- left to Kansas State
So basically no one wants to have the Frosh of the year next year

Anyone think Brandon Reed is bitter. he took the time out of his wonderful day to congratulate Strowbridge on making the "right decision"

Reed remains a tad upset that ASU fans got so mad at him for leaving we flooded his facebook and twitter accounts with angry messages. He eventually had to close both accounts and create new ones. It got so bad on Reed his older Brother got on The Den and tried to belittle us. which just made it worse of course

John Brady was quoted in the paper today as being "Frustrated and upset with the entire thing." Strowbridge said the ASU coaches lied to him... Our AD idiotically told him there was a chance at a postseason ban. Film at 11
so if he ends up at Arkansas to replace his cousin Fortson - stAte will have had two players "recruited" away from them while giving BS reasons in 3 months.
It thought ASU was going to be a big contender for the title this coming season. I'm not so sure anymore. That's a shame that those players are leaving like that.

Not a huge deal. stAte will contend - book it! Too much talent coming back.

Forwards Branch and Kirkland will make up for the loss of the Reed and his replacement, since the other young guards will improve.

Finn, Sterrenberg, and Bryant will be better and Allison is a nice guard.

In reality we've only lost Reed. This kid that just left wouldnt be on the team had Reed stayed.

Someone breaks into your house and steals your TV once . . . you replace it and move on.

If it happens again 3 months later . . . you start to question whether you are in a bad neighborhood.

In the end - you'll still have one tv or none - but things don't quite feel as safe at home.

This second incident has generated bad PR for stAte with respect to recruiting - insult to injury.

The second kid should have probably been avoided. He signed with one school (Murray St. I think) enrolled at Nebraska because of a coaching change where he originally signed, left Nebraska after two years, went to Jacksonville St., left Jacksonville State's team at the break but statyed in school and finally transferred to ASU to allegedly pursue a graduate degree.

Read the guy's twitter, etc. and he thinks he can play pro. My suspision is that after two weeks (he wasn't in the grad program yet) he figured out that he had to maintain a high GP and actually go to class or he wouldn't be able to play the second half of the season and he decided it was too much work.

I will be surprised if anyone offers this kid a scholarship and he may try to play overseas or something.
Saw where Gradnigo of the Cajuns is transferring. The league is losing some good players. So much for improving our RPI, eh ?
Any word on Donald Boone's status? Medical redshirt?
