As we walked into Buck Shaw stadium this past Saturday, we were greated by hundreds of Spurs fans chanting "who are you." It almost seemed to be some sort of greeting when other Spurs fans walked up.
What is the story with that phrase/cheer/chant?

For Spurs, it used to be chant that only the Yid Army did. If it was answered by an opposing firm, then there would've been trouble. Now, the Yid Army is basically dead so all the fans kinda do it. With that said, most English club teams do it in some shape or fashion.

At least that's always been my interpretation.
