Yeah...gonna have to promote from within or find someone sitting on their butt somewhere. Vandy isn't exactly an attractive gig, so I don't think any of the "names" that are available will go to Nashville.

Johnson is/was a class act. I'm no fan of Vandy, but I was a Bobby Johnson fan.

I like him too....and I'm afraid it must be health related. I can't imagine him doing anything to warrant the need for him to resign.

Said he is going to retire from coaching, and no health issues (with himself, anyhow). Said he wants to do more than coach...........said there's a very important person in his life (wife) that helped him make this decision.

Said he didn't have the "investment" in this upcoming season.

There have been some "obvious" game coaching blunders he made, if you ask Vandy fans. But I wonder if he was a big reason they were as close to winning the games that they lost. It seemed like they'd lose 5 games a season by <7 points each.

I don't think so. Even with his horrible record, he is an absolute legend at Vandy. He took VANDY to a bowl.....that's unheard of!
