As an example, MTSU and Vanderbilt would have to swap next year. Vanderbilt to the SBC and MTSU to the SEC. I think the results of both records would be about the same. It is more fair. But, it is just a pipe dream.
If there weren't any other university sponsored sports, then this might work (but only in an alternate reality).
What they miss is that in soccer when a team advances to a hire league in addition to the added money they can take that new money and go into the free agent market. Realistically a team advancing probably goes back down the next year and would have to have the recruiting of a couple times bouncing up and down to build a program that could stick.
