I don't want to slight the female athletes at WMU. There have been some big wins through the years from various teams and if I remember correctly, a few times there was some national significance.

Post your nominations for best win ever by a WMU women's team.

In 2004-05 I saw the women's bball team beat UD with a Hill-to-Laettner play to win at the buzzer. Broncos down by one with :03 left, Kate Versput overhands the ball all the way down the court, Kelly Koerber goes up for it at the foul line, gets it, gets absolutely destroyed by the UD defense putting up the jumper, which goes through at the buzzer. Broncos win. Best finish I've ever seen to a basketball game in person. That was awesome to see. Casey Rost, Maria Jilian, Kelly Koerber and Kim Driggett (gotta give some love to the bench) were a lot of fun to watch.
I vaguely remember the volleyball team hosted and beat Nebraska (I think) back in the mid 80's at a sold out Read Fieldhouse. It set an NCAA attendance record for volleyball at the time. It may not be the best win but it was probably the biggest thing to happen to a women's team. I also remember a year or two later that Western hosted the NCAA Volleyball Finals at Read. ESPN was there and none of the teams were from any place east of Los Angeles.
The volleyball run to the sweet 16 2 years ago was also a pretty big accomplishment.
I would say volleyball run was my the biggest moment. Sweet 16 in a sport where most teams are from the west win is great.
Charm City B, that was a sweet game. I also loved the play that Kelly Koerber made in the championship game against Ball State. She was subbing for Kristian Koetsier when she blocked the shot by the MAC player of the year and ran the court to receive the ball for an easy layup. That was a huge play to keep the Lady Broncos in the lead and basically sealed the championship.

Always proud to be a Bronco.
