Guess I'll go for the Netherlands. At this point I am just rooting for the countries I had the better experience in. Argentina, Germany, etc...

The Madrileños didn't treat you well? Guess I've been to Spain three or four times, over the years, and loved it. I did not care for Amsterdam, but the surrounding countryside was beautiful in the Netherlands. Should be a great match. I'm going with Spain 2-1.
So who is pumped for the 3rd place game!.... I kid, I kid

In the finals, I am pulling for the Dutch but I think Spain will win 1-0

Didn't have the money to get to the Iberian peninsula on the second go around. The first go around we were going to go to a festival and run with bulls (but not in Pamplona) but we missed the ferry in Civitavecchia by 5 minutes. As a result we went to Budapest, Vienna, etc. instead. I got lost in Amsterdam but it was still a pretty cool city. It is my only experience, thus I will root for the Netherlands.

It sounds like you did indeed had a real good time over in the continent of Europe, Nellis. Despite some minor problem with los espanoles, did love go to of the coffeehouse over there in Amsterdam.

Oh yea it was great. Florence (well, Arezzo) was my homebase and we free traveled (you can go anywhere in the world you want but staying in Europe with your Eurorail pass is a good idea) for 6 1/2 weeks. I saw 21 countries on 2 continents anywhere between Turkey, Budapest, Norway/Sweden, and Ireland (all over just....Ireland). We didn't have the money to stay in hostels (that tells you how frugal we were) so we basically either slept on trains, in train stations, or slept on the street where we could, so in other words, we backpacked as vagabonds Jack Kerouac style. Had a great time in Netherlands so that is who I will go for.
who did the Paul the octopus pick?

that's your winner.

He's 5-0 perfect, but it all had to do with Germany. Will they give him ink and tank time for a non Germany final?
I work with guys from the Netherlands, so I sort of have to pull for them. But I like the way Spain plays a lot better.
If Holland can score two goals, they probably win. Spain seems to be able to get one goal and then stop
What Spain does so well is holding on to possession. I see Spain doing that sunday against the dutch and I see Spain getting a late goal and winning 1-0
I think that Torres shows up on Sunday and remembers that his job is to put the ball in the net. Just like in the Euro 2008 final. I think Spain will take it 2-1 behind goals from Torres and Villa. Then again, I probably should wait for octopus Paul.
The two picks I missed in earlier rounds - Brazil v Netherlands and Spain v Germany - are the ones to make it to the finals. I'd expect that Spain wins this 3-2 and hopefully, Robben keeps to his feet.

The US played both teams in the last year or so - beating Spain 2-0 and getting a consolation goal near the end to lose 1-2 to The Netherlands. But, overall, I think Spain is stronger.

We were in Madrid and Lisbon for conferences in May of '08, and happened to run in to the Spain Selección in the airport. My friend has a facebook pic up tagged next to David Villa and Fabregas - I gotta pull for España, regardless of what the octopus chooses.

I'd do the same in your position. I really don't have an affinity to either side and am happy that a new team will get crowned.
I don't care who wins as long as it is a good game, but I am thinking spain 2-1

Exactly. All my teams are either out or didn't make this one. The fact that a team will win their first ever Cup is enough to make me want to watch the match.
Before the WC started, I picked Spain, but now having seen both team play, I'm rooting for the Dutch.
