Here are the preliminary drawings...they aren't touched up for final presentation, but will be what the stadium will look like...obviously the grass coloring, etc has to be added in, but you can get the overall picture. Note the location(s) in the stadium in the bottom right corners of the photos.

Well, it looks nice, but MG61 was posting all sorts of drawings of proposed stadium to replace fouts for nearly a decade and unt coaches promising recruits it would be a reality for that long as well, before the funding and shovel turning got approved. Has FAU got the money, approval, and when will the first shovel of dirt be turned and when will the first game be played???? And most importantly we all want to know if one end zone will have wings like unt's?
Looks great.02-13-banana Any timeline ?

Who wears pants to games in South Florida? The rendering of the student, with his boat shoes, and frat-boy plaid shorts is better than the guy in a button down and pants he's standing next to.

Really, what is the weather like down there the first weekend in December? I remember going to Miami for NYE one year, and NY Day we went swimming in the hotel pool. I'm not planning on bringing jeans.
well, we were suppose to take the financing plan to the BOG this month, BUT... they had to refine it so now we wait until the Sept meeting. Once that is approved, shovels can hit the ground, and it is suppose to be ready next sept still... (I don't see it done in less than a year, what construction project ever finishes on time). But they say it can be done, it is a simple erector type stadium.

So GOD SPEED FAU, get it done!

GO OWLS!
I believe that UCF's stadium was built in about 15 or 18 months and that was a bigger structure, so it can be done. What we are waiting on is the rules on how to finance the funding which the Florida Board of Governers is changing at a meeting this week. After that, they will work out a funding deal with the bank that they have already chosen. It's a complicated process, and we all know there could be more delays, but the land has been cleared, the plans are in place, and they can start building as soon as the deal is approved. Nobody is more tired of the situation then us Owls fans, so hopefully we can get it done this time and do our part to help improve the conference as a whole.
i look forward to taking my grandchildren to your brand new stadium for opening day. 03-thumbsup 03-wink

Looks great! Congrats FAU! The Belt is starting to catch up to CUSA with facilities. I already know our facilities are much better than the MAC.

SBC Construction:
UNT's Stadium (2011)
FAU's Stadium (Possibly 2011)
TROY's Trojan Arena (2011)

Is there anything I left off?

I can tell you that the family members I have in Miami will tell you its freezing when it hits 68 degrees.

This is true.

Cajun Field is scheduled for a major facelift in ca 2013.
Hey we had frost one morning! That was freezing!
I grew up in Delray, and I remember one time back in the early 1980's when our birdbath froze over. My sister and I were really weirded out by that.
By the way, the stadium looks great. I'm having a hard time imagining where they would expand exactly though.
That's pretty cool. It is a good capacity for your school. Do the plans include foundation for easy expansion? And are you using the same contractor?

I see FAU has started the athletic village concept, or am incorrect?
