I can honestly say that prior to this World Cup, I had not watched a soccer game all the way through unless one of my sons was playing in it, and they are 4th grade and kindergarten, so it is barely soccer.

Unlike most people who profess not to be soccer fans, I have enjoyed watching this World Cup, although I know very little about what is going on. You soccer fans on this board have helped me learn a lot.

Most anti soccer people complain about the lack of scoring, and that is still a slight complaint with me. However there are at least a couple of other things more annoying, like the horns, although I really don't even hear them anymore.

The most annoying thing about this World Cup so far is the stupid Sony Panaramic Commercial they are running over and over. I hope the whole world isn't seeing that mindless dreck.

I have enjoyed watching the athleticism of the players and the passion. I have enjoyed listening to announcers who have an accent and use words like hullabaloo. I've enjoyed learning about something I knew nothing about.
I felt the exact same way when I started to really watch soccer after the 06 World Cup. I love it now.

Glad we could help you with comments on this board.

Cheers!
Think how fun it will be watching with your kids as they get older.
Enjoy. My kid played at the highest level for 9 years. Sometimes it was a hassle, but both of us miss it now. Especially during this tournament.
The Pittsburgh Steelers scored 21 points in their 2006 Super Bowl victory over Seattle. That same year the Italian national team scored an average of 3 points per match on their way to winning the World Cup.

21/7= 3

The lack of scoring all goes into the context of the game.

Start giving 10 points per goal, and the American public will LOVE IT!02-13-banana

Exactly. I also don't understand why millions of people in America will call soccer boring yet fall head over heels for golf.
Fun to listen to European announcers who don't pull punches. My son tells me Ronaldo flopped so much today the announcers were calling him names. Sweet.
