How about this:Kansas, K-State, Mizzou, Baylor, Iowa State stay together and invite Northern Illinois(Chicago market), Colorado State (Denver market), TCU (Dallas), and Houston to become a nine team league without a championship game and a large midwest footprint? The Mid-9? The Central 9? Or add Tulsa, Rice (Dallas) and Tulane (New Orleans) for 12. The Dust Bowl Dozen? Just a thought ...

A 9 team league when there are options to make it an even number? That doesn't make sense at all.

this would give a boost to NIUs relevancy for sure.

how about the big 12, less neb and colo, add tcu and Houston and call in the Southwest Conference

If this included men's basketball, we'd go 0-16 in conference play.
