THANKS JOHN FOR THE INFO AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO THIS BOARD.

HOPE TO SEE LAMPLEY PLAY SOON THIS SUMMER AT EMU (INFORMAL SCRIMMAGES) THE TEAM SHOULD BE ON CAMPUS SOON IF NOT ALREADY AND THEY USUALLY PLAY IN EMU'S AUXILIARY GYM, EARLY EVENINGS OMN CERTAIN DAYS OF THE WEEK.

I'LL KEEP YPU POSTED ON HOW LAMPLEY PLAYS WHEN I GO DOWN.
“Who would of thought that someone of his size would play be a shooting guard at the division one level?”

We're assuming that he's a PG, but is he?
haha @woodennickle.... i was waiting for someone to mention the shooting guard thing.... all i am saying is that he was part of an all state backcourt where the PG was 5'8"... and darrell was the 5'9" shooting guard... magical team that was.... i think maybe coach colicchio will always think of him as his shooting guard... but i know he has worked on his PG skills and i anticipate him being your PG... he is too small for a D1 shooting guard
John Linden - I seen Lampley play in an open gym the other night, very impressive. I've heard from the coaches that he is doing well.

The coaching staff is impressed as he seems to have fit right in with his new teammates.
I understand that he was not well known about in JC ball and EMU thinks that he was a steal. Aparently not too many teams knew about him.

As mentioned in a previous post, his shot wasen't really falling the night I seen him but I was impressed with his quickness and penetration, he had a lot of assists for the evening.

I hope to see him play again in open gym in the near future and wish him well. Seems like a real good kid!

thanks dennis thats great to hear.... been awhile since i have seen him play... are the games on the web?? keep me posted with any updates!
Not on the web and no coverage - the team plays in an open gym type setup in their auxiliary gym with very few attendees other than the players theirselves.

I''ll keep you posted, I should see them again within a week.
JohnELInden,

The actual games are usually streamed to the web during the season.
Check http://www.emueagles.com closer to the season and they'll have all the information you need.
Another great web site to check is http://www.channelsurfing.net. If it's being streamed to the web,
typically they have the feed posted to their site for free. Not sure how they do it or if it's even
legal, but it's out there. They post a daily schedule of what will be shown on their site. I know
they carried some of the EMU Football games and a number of the Men's Basketball games last
year.
thanks guys!! yeah i did mean the regular season.... i watched plenty of games on channelsurfing so thats good to know that emu games could be on there.... keep me posted with any updates!
Got a chance to see Lampley play. He's adjusting, but you can see that he's a real leader and has a tremendous amount of upside.
KPJ - WAS LAMPLEY'S SHOT GOING DOWN? DID YOU ALSO GET A CHANCE TO SEE STEWART PLAY? HE WAS IMPERESSIVE TO ME LAST WEEK WHEN I SEEN BOTH NEW RECRUITS PLAY.

P.S. I LIKE BOTH BUT YOU CAN'T GET A FEEL HAVING SEEN BOTH PLAY ONLY ONCE. WILL TRY TO SEE THEM PLAY NEXT WEEK AT OPEN GYM.
Lampley shot well, but wasn't aggressively looking for his shot.
Seemed to have above average ability to set up his teammates.
I was a fan of his court vision and passing skills.
He's short, but very solid.
Thanks - I agree. I thought he penetrated well and dished the ball. Seems like he could be a solid playmaker

Impressions of Stewart????
Stewart has alot of tools. Looks like he could play the 3 and 4 in the MAC.
I think he'll make SOLID contributions right away.
thanks again for the update guys!
Seen Lampley and Stewart both play last night in open gym. Both are KEEPERS.

Harris had a great outing, probably the most impressive player on the floor.
Dennis,

I have to ask about a few more players, I think we talked about Sims.

What is your impressions about Dailey, Frasier? Any improvements there?

In my opinion, I think we see Sims being first guard option off the bench behind Lampley and Greene.
Sims hit a few threes but also missed a few. He doesn't seem to be in the flow of the game and hangs around the three point line a lot. Coaches think he can really shoot, I hope so. He could be off the bench especially when we need threes, he can probably hit a few shots for you but his all around game? Remember too, he has 4 yrs of eligibiliy left.

Dailey didn't play last evening. Balkema, Cooper, Higgins were also missing in action last evening.

Green played pretty well, hitting some long ones.

Medlock was there and played well, usually matched up against Lampley.

Frazier - I had him counted out but you know what - he played well. It t appears that he intends to compete for the PG spot vacated my Medlock.

I got to see Lamply and Bowdry doing shooting drills with each other on Wednesday. It was encouraging on two levels. Bowdry looked to be moving well on the foot he broke after the season and Lampley's shot was looking better than solid.
