ECU
Memphis (has to add a BB team since they lost Duke/UNC)
UCF

Why would we jump to a completely gutted ACC!?
Hey, I can do this to!

SEC takes:

Southern Cal

Duke
Orange County Community College

The ACC takes:

ECU

Elon

The Big 10 takes:

Whoa, whoa, whoa, that is completely unrealistic. Why would Duke pass up the Pac-10 to go t othe Big 12? And what does Orange County Community College have that the Citadel doesn't offer?

ACC really only loses UNC and Duke. And even then they add ECU, Memphis, UCF, and USF.

You UL fans keep disrespecting other schools and it's starting to piss me off.

We are not disrespecting you, its just you are offering up teams that stand no shot to go to the SEC (UNC/Duke)...ECU and USF stand a better shot than the other two. Just put some more thought into your post.....

He's not trying to put thoughts into his posts. He just throwing stuff out there to get a reaction.
But really though what would it take in order for the SEC to pry UNC out of the ACC? I think if it were possible the SEC would love to have UNC and UVa, but really what do you think it would take to get them to join? Also I would not look at it as jumping so to say, but a merger of both the ACC and Beig East teams to become a one all sports conference or even the most powerful hybrid if they choose to.

I'm not a Louisville fan and I'm not disrespecting anybody. The point is, taking North Carolina, Miami, Florida State and Duke out of the ACC is like ripping the heart and soul out of that conference. Why would you want to go to a disaster area and build a new house?
I dont see the ACC adding Tier 4 schools. They're as serious as the B10 when it comes to academics.

I did put thought into this:

SEC is missing only one SE state -> NC

Wake, NCSU, and ECU aren't going to be invited so it's UNC and DUke to not separate them.

SEC also want's to strengthen it's hold in FL so Miami and Fl St.

ACC responds with the up and comers from C-USA plus UL and Cin.

C-USA then goes for more of a texas centric conference with a closer footprint.

Duke and UNC are academic schools, with the exception of Vandy, the SEC could care less about academics. That stops those two schools right there, aside from just joining the SEC. There are other reasons as well like other sports they compete in and politics. But the academic portion is the biggie.

ACC could end up getting UL, UC, and C-USA ers like UCF and ECU but not from the path you have.
Couple of things here.

1. The ACC will not, repeat WILL NOT take a tier 4 school. You can bank on that.

2. If TX is too high on academics to go to the SEC, UNC and Duke won't even give it a passing thought.

3. The only member of the NC4 that the SEC might target would be NCSU, but I don't think they jump ship either.

4. Strengthen the hold in FL? It's plenty strong as it is. However a meaningful for possible championship implications between UF and FSU would generate better national ratings. That would be what the seek to gain in FL. I don't see the SEC going for Miami either.

the NC4. Those schools are the ACC. There are ties between those 4 that are much much closer than any of those among the B12 schools. The only way that UNC and Duke wind up in the SEC is that the ACC is completely taken apart. Even then, I believe they'll just come up with another eastern seaboard conference which winds up being a conglomerate of BE and ACC schools. And I doubt that would stretch to over 12 schools. A lot of the ACC would like to go back to playing everyone twice in basketball.

Looks like WVU would be on the outside looking in under this sceniaro. Do you think we would have a shot at C-USA under the "maybe two others" category?

Yeah but there would be a probation period to make sure you could keep up.

Understandable.
I thought you'd like that.

Seriously though, I still think WVU would be in the SEC when if they decide to go to 16.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. If expansion was about performance on the field then ECU would certainly deserve a spot in a BCS conference.
Honestly, I've quit worrying about it because there's nothing I can do to persuade it one way or the other. It's the hinderance that we deal with every day being in the same state as 4 BCS schools, and competing for the same resources with 2 of those. however the success of unc and state have brought prosperity to NC and without them, we wouldn't be who we are to day....good, bad, or ugly.

I don't think WVU has anything to worry about when the shakeups come though.
