Well, I guess 90 is better than 91.
We are set if the NCAA ever
1. starts a playoff system in football
2. expands to 96 teams.

I can't take it anymore our program has officially gone to HADES!
Well, if there's a bright side, three of the teams projected to be worse than us are on our schedule this year, and two of them are at home.

Yeah, I know. Yay.
Two BCS teams are rated lower than UAB. Remind me again why it is they deserve the money for their superior performance?
The preseason predictions vastly underrated our basketball team last season.
90th percentile, perhaps?
As long as UAB is perceived nationally as constantly rebuilding (as opposed to reloading) each year, it will be a preseason lightweight year to year. Hopefully we will have another strong season, perhaps ending in the "Dance" so we will get over that image. Right now we are just another of the many hoping for our "15 minutes of fame" like being the last to defeat Butler last year until they lost to Duke in the National Championship game.

It is sure hard to disagree with anything in the article. We won 5 games last year with a fantastic athlete supplying most of our offense and had one of the worst defenses in college football. The good news is that other than Webb Seitz, Barns and Ferrelll, most of the players who played offense, defense and special teams are back. The bad news is that most of the players who played offense, defense and special teams are back. Callaway again mortgaged the future of the program by bringing in a bunch of JC transfers. Unless those guys can do a little miracle work, how can we expect better results than last year. Of course, given the alternative, another losing season might not be so bad after all since if that happens we will probably be looking for a new head coach. If Callaway and his staff managed to pull a wining season out of their neither regions, we may be stuck with them for a while. I have totally ost whatever confidence I ever had that Callaway can get the job done, though I must admit I never had much to begin with.
