It is a little long, but it is worth the time.
Obstacles to overcome: high school soccer, state associations, and the NCAA.
All restrict player development.
If they can do it and still give the kids a good education I am all about it. It looks like they are doing it in a way were the kids live at home. That is good.

In some countries they basically live on-site. The quality education some of these kids receive is below poor.
I really hope Najar decides he wants to play for the USA and not Honduras.

The kids who start at 13 overseas as a semi-professional are going to work full time and going to school part time. I do not know if it is a good arrangement, but it is like a kid turing pro at the age of 16 in tennis in the past. If the make, it is good for the kid. If they do not make, what can he do to go to college?
