First of all, congrats are in order to the Blue Raiders. Once again the Bubas Cup belongs to Middle Tennessee. :ncaabbs:

Just for fun I wanted to play around with the numbers to make it more meaningful to me. Don't worry MTSU fans, I am in no way discounting your accomplishment, so please don't take it that way.

Please post your thoughts about what you think about the Bubas Cup, and if you have any observations.

One observation I make regarding USA is that if we were already at the point of competing in football and if our men's tennis counted this year, it's likely that we'd move to 2nd place in men's sports and up one spot in the overall standings to 6th.

EDIT: I've attached my Excel Spreadsheet if anyone wants it to play around with figures as well.
The thing that stands out to me is that, despite all the bitching and moaning about who sponsors how many sports, any way you cut it or break it down, we're first.

Honestly, the school that others can complain about finishing so high is WKU. They get first place points in all four tracks, swimming and diving and finish second despite last-place finishes in like five sports.

Yes. I am in no way disputing MT, because like you said any way you cut it MT was the best this year.

I think if you finagle the numbers enough you can make a case for moving a school up and down several spots in the ranking... except of course for MT who is #1 any way you cut it.
You can slice it, dice it, review it, re-review it, get out the magnifying glass, factor in all the what ifs, sit on a dog house and think it thru but the result is still the same. Muts win and the remaining schools finish in the order and with the points they have listed.07-coffee3
Complaining about WKU's standing is dumb.
All the schools in the conference agreed as to how
the Bubas cup was determined. For all the years
we we not 1A in Football WKU didn't receive
any points for Football at all. So take your crying
somewhere else. You won the Cup and you are still
bitchin that WKU came in second. 03-banghead

I don't think he's bitching about WKU at all. He is trying to "justify" the points for some of the other complainers.

Quite being a douche.
I hate WKU but I appreciate that they spend the money and put the effort into being strong.

I was just throwing it out there for the people that whine and complain about track and swimming and diving.
