aTx- You should be shot for even mentioning DMB at defense. It's a great theory, but he's never done well when put back there.

As for Gooch, if I'm Capello, and see Gooch starting for the US, Peter Crouch gets the start with Rooney. Hopefully, his ariel game is something that can be fixed before the game.

I was really impressed with Holden. Granted, he wasn't out there with the normal XI, but he still had good energy and controled midfield.

Spector all day. He at least understands positioning as a defender, and doesn't constantly make runs up the wing that expose the back side of the formation.

I agree with you if we are talking Spector on his natural side, but if his time at West Ham has shown us anything is that he is not the same player when on the other side of the field.


EDIT: Not to mention both Walcott and Lennon have abused him in the EPL.
