It's VERY EARLY and things are quiet so I decided to do a rivals.com search.

Found approximately 30 players with interest in EMU.

More interesting a DOZEN are from the state of MI.

I think posters here are too quick to say, 'our coaches just really aren't that interested in recruiting Michigan..."

I just don't think that's true.

I believe English indicated EMU offered maybe 10 kids last year and got one acceptance.

It may be easier to sell EMU outside of Michigan then inside.

And BTW Kurt Anderson is in on at least 4 OLs from IL. 04-cheers

Scout has EMU in on around 35 players, including some JUCOs. Most of them are not on the Rivals.com list.

I'd guess the 'unduplicated count' would be around 50 kids.
Steve don't we have two commits already for next year? One I think is a greyshirt WR from IL and the other a JUCO if memory serves me right.

I remember the IL WR (grayshirt).

I'm forgetting the JUCO, though.

I just remembered, the DB from one of the CA JUCOs.
Julius Shelby is the WR... 6'5 out of Proviso East. Should be NICE
I really don't see a need for too many offensive linemen in 2011 with the five or more we got in the 10 class. We will definitely need DBs in the 2011 class as well as TEs.

Agree, but RE might be the type of HC who feels a team can't have too many good OL or DL men.

I really believe RE will try to win the line of scrimage on both sides of the ball.

Much different then what one typically sees in the MAC.
There always seems to be a percentage of D lineman that shift to offense as well. If they have the height and can put on the weight, they usually have the feet and athleticism to excel. Steve Johnson and, of course, TJ Lang are good examples of this. I think they should focus on bringing more high school D line recruits in with this in mind...the end result could be improvements in depth and athleticism to both lines.
RECRUITING NEEDS - THIS MAY BE THE YEAR ENGLISH BRINGS IN A FEW RB'S AND TE'S
