Make your prediction.
I'm gonna say 4. With England being the loss

I would love to say 6 but I don't see that happening
Go big or go home.
Because I can never tell how a Bob Bradley team will perform...I went with 1-1-1.
We have done very well in World Cups not on European soil though. This could be a repeat of the 2002 World Cup run. One can hope.
I am going with 9. Beat England and ride the momentum. There are a lot of questions for England, starting with the injury status of Rooney and Terry. England also has questionable wingers who won't stretch the US. I think the US will beat England, 1-0.
I said 7 because I am a homer.

I think that four of five points for the US MNT is realistic in the end for them. Anything beyond that you are better a totally homer, for their are only four or five soccer powers in the world.
How are they going to get 5 points?

Edit: Nevermind, a win and two draws.

I just don't seeing us drawing with Algeria or Slovenia.
Can we jump in the Delorian and fast forward a few weeks?

Even in 2002, we only got 4 points in the group. W against Portugal, L vs Poland, and Tied South Korea.

We get 4 points in the group.

L England 1-0
T Slovenia 1-1
W Algeria 3-2

4pts(1-1-1) GD 0

That would put us through to play Germany in the R of 16 if England doesn't lose or Slovenia/Algeria tie each other.

Yes we did get 4 in 02 that's what makes me thingk we'll do that again but wow, in your scenario for us this tear you have us needing a win in the last game just to advance. I'd rather not have to sweat it out going into that last game

Slovenia is a lot like our team. We might have a bit more indiviual talent but we are both teams that need to play strong team defense with our midfielders staying close with our back line. That game might even end up 0-0 instead of 1-1.

If we don't get a result against England we must beat Algeria to advance.
i have no faith in our team to score goals right now. I think England takes us 2-0 (at least) and we probably put up a 0-0 and 1-1 draw against slovenia and algeria
We'll know a lot more about where we stand after the pre-WC friendlies.

It will give the US indeed a good preview for the 2010 World Cup, but South Africa is almost three weeks away in the end.
The friendlies are less about winning and more cutting down the roster, setting a starting lineup, and on on-field chemistry. You could tell we were gonna be bad at WC06 after our Latvia and Morrocco games before the WC. No ability to string anything together offensively and no chemistry.
Until i am proven wrong they will have 9
We'll draw somebody, we always do.
