What a f'ing joke. While they're at it, why don't they predict the bowls for the next 10 years?

I was going to say the same thing, it might be more reasonable to predict what bowls will be around by next year than the teams involved in any bowl games. This whole bowl system is so tired and done, noone cares about these games anymore anyway.
I would love to play Troy again, if for nothing else, for the smack talk by Troy's "Mr. Ho".

It's not a total joke. It does predict that this year's Huskies should be a bowl worthy team, and I do not think that is a stretch.

As for whether they will face Troy, or that they will play in the GMAC, Little Ceasar, Humanitarian, or any other specific bowl game, that is anyone's guess.
Why is this so out of line? There are NFL websites already making predictions on who makes the playoffs and the Super Bowl. Baseball websites predict the World Series winner before the season starts.

It's stupid, plain and simple. There are too many questions to make anything close to an accurate prediction. We haven't even gone through summer practice or played a game yet. And, IF we go to a bowl, to predict the bowl and our opponent is looney. It is merely a guess that is worthless IMO.

The official Dog Fan bowl prediction says that in 2011, we will be playing Purdue in the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl. There, now go take that to the bank and watch for my 2012 through 2016 bowl predictions to be coming out soon.
Not that it's right nor wrong, no good nor bad to make such projections in MAY, but the summertime kool aid must already be flowing in CFN offices.
About 4 weeks 'til Phil Steele's hits the newstands. Football will be just around the corner.04-cheers

I predict the Rockets will be in the 2011 GMAC Bowl against Middle Tennessee State. Give me a few days to analyze some pre-season stats and I'll have a projected score and attendance for you as well.

They are a college football website. They have to write about something. Hopefully it will give NIU some positive hype. One other point. Do you think that Ohio State fans and TCU fans have their panties in a knot because they are predicted to be in the BCS Championship?
Dog Fan sorry to say no way we go to that bowl....it will be NIU vs. TCU in the Sugar Bowl...mark it down. If were predicting why not go all out

How much more research into the Huskies will CFN or any of the other publications really do between now and August anyway?

They will look at last year's team, and notice that they finished second in their division, and went to a bowl game. They will notice that CMU lost Lefevre and others, while NIU had a young team and did not lose too many players, and they will pick the Huskies to go bowling again.

The pick assumes that NIU is the MAC #2 team, which implies that they go to the MCC, and lose. It is not a big stretch.
Stretch this.

Most analyzing and forecasting 2010 college football bowls in May are d!kheds needing material to fill copy space.

TP is put to better uses.

I pay no particular attention to either.

+1 It's a college football site, what the heck else are we gunna talk about in the off season? Story lines are dried up no question. Hell, look at the crap we talk about here in the months of March - August.

Agreed. Is the actual bowl and opponent prediction worth a damn? No. But they have us finishing 2nd in the MAC. Once the major media starts putting out their conference picks, they will all be posted on this message board and everyone will discuss them. They're predicting an NIU-Temple MACC.
NIUR&B.

Good point tho we dont claim any expertise nor get paid to drivel daily on the pound.
Why is everyone so angry at CFN? This is positive media attention for NIU!

Did I express anger or merely my bemusement re: idle folly?...........
