It's a good film. But I wouldn't put that on any need to see list...

How do you feel about "Grand Theft Parsons"? I was in California following the news reports while that was happening...
Hmm, will have to check out this Grand Theft Parsons. I really think Man on Wire is fabulous, but to each his own. The dude's got a huge ego and kinda a d!ck, but his presence was very powerful. And plus it's set like a heist film. Entertaining and on the edge of your seat
Grand Theft Parsons is a true story. It's about the theft of Gram Parsons' body by his road manager after he died, and stars Johnny Knoxville...
Eraser
--not bad...could have been better...

Rambo I - IV
--gotta prepare for The Expendables ya know :D

excellent movie. my one problem is that it took so much work to keep up with what was going on, that it took away (only slightly) from the overall enjoyment of the film
King of Kong
Excellent documentary about an outsider's attempt to break the Donkey Kong world record. Who knew there were outsiders in the classic arcade game community?

Into the Void
Uneven documentary about a couple of dumb*** mountain climbers who try a never before attempted climb in the Andes. They run out of supplies, one falls, breaks his leg, & has to be lowered down the rest of the mountain by his partner. Of course, his partner accidentally lowers him off a cliff & cuts him loose, so he falls into a crevace & has to drag himself the rest of the way to the base camp. The renactments for most of the movie are fairly well done, but they just get really strange at the end.

The World's Fastest Indian
Based on a true story account of nutty Kiwi Burt Munro (Anthony Hopkins) who sets the land speed record for sub 1000 ccs motorcycles on a modified 40 year old Indian bike. Great film.

Extree

Insult to injury...the guy finally drags himself down the mountain, only to find out his "buddy" burnt all of his clothes. 03-nutkick

I loved that that was what seemed to bother him the most about the entire ordeal.

I watched this a few years ago and forget much of the context. What I remember is that those dudes were extremely extremely lucky and pretty much condemned by the entire mountaineering society. I don't fault their spirit or decision making though. I wonder if they're still friends.

According to the epilogue, what the mountaineering community condemned was the decision to cut the guy with the broken leg loose instead of McGuyvering some solution or getting dragged down the mountain along with him (of course, he didn't really seem to search very hard for him the next day either so that might have come into play as well). It said the guy with the broken leg defends the decision to cut him loose, so they were at least sort of friendly up to the filming of the documentary.

If i recall correctly, didn't the dude without the broken leg wait forever for a signal that his buddy was ok? I mean, in that situation, what would you do? It's not like he could see him. He coulda been dead for all he knew.

They did have signals worked out, but since the guy with the broken leg was dangling in mid-air (with a severly broken leg no less), he couldn't take enough slack off the rope to make any kind of signal. I'm not sure exactly how long it was, but it was more than a couple of hours. Also, he wasn't in the securest of positions & the snow around him was starting to fail which would have sent him sliding down the mountain. Of course, part of the reason it took him so long to decide was that he forgot he had a knife, so you can take that for what it's worth.

One of the people I was watching it with pointed out that it was a bs thing for the guy with the broken leg to make him (the healthy one) cut the rope. Since he was the one that screwed up by breaking his leg and was now seriously endangering his climbing partner's life, he should have been the one to cut the rope. Of course, as ill prepared as they were, he probably didn't have a knife on him
Planet Terror
I liked it in a twisted way
--Just wanted to watch the original trailer for Machete again :D

Forbidden Kingdom
--The only Jackie Chan/Jet Li team up movie. It wasn't bad as it were but I think the Monkey King and the Kid in it kind of made it less than what it could have been.

From Paris With Love
--John Travolta plays an interesting cop/agent and it has decent action but overall once you watch it you will be good.

Double Impact
--Probably the cheesiest Van Damne movie ever.... but it is good in its own way.

I'm looking forward to this one. It's got a great action cast. I just hope the story is decent. I'm not real impressed with the quality of writing that usually comes out of Hollywood these days...

You will be watching this FOR the action man!

Not sure how close it play to the story in the faux trailer they did at the beginning of Planet Terror though even though it looks like they recreated some scenes from that trailer.
