About 2 hours late.
No thanks.

they should have vehicles standing by to take anyone who actually attempts to enter those gates today directly to a mental health facility.
Kids...
I'm old, I'm going, and the music will be glorious just like it was last night. Lots of great blues masters for us "mature" folks. What's a little mud and wind?

Ditto my man
I have grown tired of going to the mudfest. It rains on that weekend 3 out of every 4 years. You stand in rain and mud, wait in lines to get beer and then wait in lines to piss.

Forecast today and tonight: strong to severe thunderstorms with winds 10-20 mph and stronger. There is a possibility of hail and there is a flash flood watch until tomorrow afternoon. There is also a tornado watch for the next few hours.

The lineup looks great. but i don't buy weekend tickets to it anymore. If i do go, it's just for one day and on a year and day that it isn't raining and muddy. I would have gone this weekend at some point today or tomorrow, but not now.
ive been the last 6 years, rained atleast 1 day every year, as long as there arent any "warnings" im going, and seriously how many tornados actaully came out of all those tornado "warnings" today?

It just takes 1.

I shudder to think what would happen if an even EF2 were to move into Tom Lee Park- at night, into a packed crowd.

No thanks.

Rob

The flood gates? Someone had to say it.
wasnt it 3 or 4 years ago that the bbq contest got hit early one saturday morning - not a funnel cloud but the next best thing. if it had been a few hours earlier, there would have been a LOT of people hurt.

MIM has a responsiblity to not put people in a situation like this.
funnel cloud came across the river on a FRI nite at BBQ about 5 or 6 years ago. My friend got married that nite. Wedding was outside and we beat the rain (barely). Reception was at the country club on Lamar downtown and we found ourselves forced into the basement. scary
the river does a really good job on diverting the really bad stuff, that why we see most tornados hit eastern AR, bypass use (for the most part) and then slam jackson/nashville ect.
I have a pair of mud boots that I only use one weekend out of the year. Guess which weekend that is.

I dont see MIM holding a gun to anyone's head making them go. Typical response from someone looking for someone to blame. If people want to go and tromp in the mud, thats their decision.

they have plenty of disclaimers on their website explaining that people go down there at their own risk, rain or shine.

i used to be one of the idiots down there all the time. i was giving serious thought to going this year until the forecast for the weekend started coming out.
that's true, good point
It's one thing to listen to good music and have a good time hanging with your friends on the river but man oh man.....this crazy weather could really screw things up down there.
