We are only 40 days away from the official on sale date of my 2010 COLLEGE PREVIEW!!! It goes on sale Tuesday, June 8th and there is a possibility you could see it earlier than that at your local bookstore.

Today I want to look at the % of yards returning for the offenses. I took all of the yards each QB threw for as well as all of the individual rushing yards and receiving yards for each team. I then took all of the returning yards from '09 for the percentage.

At the top of the chart is Boise St. They return all 11 starters from last years offense including 100% of their rushing yards. The Broncos only lose TE/FB Richie Brockel who had 75 rec yds (9.4) last year. They are followed closely by Washington who returns 10 starters on offense and only loses 45 rush yds and 63 pass yds from last year. Other BCS schools at the top of the list include: North Carolina (98.41%), Virginia Tech (98.38%), Texas Tech (96.53%), Ohio St (95.17%) and Nebraska (94.9%).

At the bottom of the list are three teams that lost OVER 75% of their yards gained from last year. Bowling Green loses QB Tyler Sheehan who threw for more than 4,000 yds last year and Biletnikoff finalist Freddie Barnes who set the NCAA record with 155 receptions last year and had more than 1800 yds rushing and receiving! Kansas loses QB Todd Reesing who threw for 3,616 yds last year and a pair of WRs in Kerry Meier and Dezmon Briscoe who combined for more than 2,300 receiving yards! Memphis lost their #1 and #2 all-time receivers in Duke Calhoun and Carlos Singleton and their #3 all-time RB in Curtis Steele along with QB Will Hudgens who threw for more than 1,500 yds!

I will be back next week to take a look at another experience chart. Have a great week!!!

Here is the complete list of this years % of yards returning.

I think that's a little misleading for some people who don't really know what TROY's offense will be post-Brown&Brown.The SBC POY was a big part of the offensive success of the Trojans, but the majority of the receivers are back, the two starting RBs, both OTs, OGs...and the former starting QB that was 1.5 - 0 against SBC foes. He led the Trojans to victory MT and was on his way to doing the same against FAU. So, I think that there is going to be more offense than what's indicated...I love statistics...finishing a business stats class this semester...
then you know that there is a standard deviation when figuring out these stats and can use regression and correlation analysis to figure out how much the returning players that have stats affect this.

Wait a minute! 03-hissyfit This is the first class dude...regression and correlation analysis is in the next semester's class. Now, I'm not sure what formulas that Phil uses, but I feel it's misleading in reference to TROY'S offense 04-cheers

i wasn't meaning any disrespect. no doubt troy will have some very strong performers coming in or off the bench that haven't played much.i feel most sbc schools are capable of being sleepers . i really didn't get to see Troy's back up qb but he is more than likely a very capable player. all i ask is that Troy beats BGSU in the season opener or i will be disappointed.
by the way the Troy fans that came to Cajun Field were very pleasant but i almost saw one of the band members drop his tuba and run into our student section to fight someone. lol

Now you know Phil doesn't call us ULL (Louisiana). Are you suggesting it would be edited by MG61 regardless of what Phil calls us?03-lmfao
NT's numbers are misleading, with Dodge the returning QB now at WR.
