Fellow Blazer Brethren:
Just flew back from OK where my son and I watched the Thunder absolutely CRUSH the Lackeys, I mean Lakers (YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Once I figure out how to get the photos from my phone, I will try to post them on the media site.
However, here's an interesting story:

DJ White, who played for CMD at Indiana, and reportedly almost transferred with Vaden, plays for the Thunder. Anywho, my son was hanging over the banister where the team goes in/out of the locker room, getting autographs and slapping high 5's, when DJ White walked over to sign his towel. I held up my UAB sweatshirt, and said, "DJ, Mike Davis sends his best!" He laughed, fist bumped, and said back, "Don't see any UAB fans here!" He, as well as the rest of the Thunder, were extremely gracious, and took lots of time with the fans, especially kids, before the game, signing towels, foam fingers, basketballs, etc.

The whole experience was pretty amazing. Great game!
That's a cool story thanks for sharing!
You lucky dog!! I was so wrong on Durant's future. I did not think he had the stamina to make it through an NBA season and have a playoff run.
I stayed at a hotel right across the street from the Ford Center when we played Oklahoma in Norman(about an hour away from OKC).
Did you get a chance to go to Bricktown?

PS:

I HATE THE LAKERS!!!!!
The Lakers organization is the NBA's version of the Yankees...
Yeah, we spent about 2-3 hours walking around Bricktown. That's a pretty cool place, and a great idea by the city leadership that is really paying off. We had lunch at an outdoor mexican place, walked into Toby Keith's I Love This Bar, passed the Sonic's HQ, and hit every man's paradise... Bass Pro (and this one is the biggest I've been in). We walked back down to the Convention Center, the kids participated in shooting contests, running the inflatable obstacle course, and then went into the Ford Center around 7 pm. Very cool area.
Earlier that day, we had gone to the Murrah building monument/bombing site. Very moving experience.
OKC has really done a lot to recover from that dreaded event. Today they ran a marathon to end the week of observance in memorial of the bombing.
The Black Mamba's old self can't keep up with Kevin Durantula at all. It's beautiful!
Hard to believe it has been 15 years since the Oklahoma City bombing. As someone who worked in a federal building at the time, I was extremely shaken by this event. 9/11 has almost wiped this event off of our nations consciousness, but 15 years ago, it was a very scary time.

BTW, if you think the Bass Pro Shop in OKC is huge, if plans come through, it will be dwarfed when they convert the Pyramid in Memphis into a Bass Pro Shop. (seriously - I know it sounds like a joke, but it's not)
