This is for anyone on the board that might know of anyone else here in the Kansas City area, particularly guys that are looking to participate in a sport. Once upon a time I mentioned on here that my wife skates for the Kansas City Roller Warriors, the local Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) affiliate in town. Well, now it's the men's turn: men's roller derby has come to Kansas City.
Myself and a group of guys (including other husbands, refs, boyfriends, etc of KCRW) are forming the Cowtown Butchers, Kansas City's Premiere All-Men's Roller Derby League. Just like the Roller Warriors 5 years ago, we are forming this league from the ground up, with hopes of applying for/becoming members of the Men's Derby Coalition (MDC). The MDC skates and competes under the WFTDA rule-set, meaning that this will be flat track roller derby with the same rules that the ladies skate by. Right now, the Butchers are looking for guys in the Kansas City area that are 18 and over who want to skate and compete in the hard-hitting, fast-paced sport of roller derby.

P.S-As info, if anyone in the Chicago area is interested in roller derby, check out the Windy City Rollers (also a WFTDA league) at http://www.windycityrollers.com Their bouts are held at the UIC Pavilion, with the next one being May 1st.
