Quote:Missouri announced today that two players will not return to the Tiger basketball team next season. Sophomore guard Miguel Paul and freshman forward Tyler Stone will transfer at the end of the semester.

Stone signed last spring with the Tigers and played in just 12 of Missouri's 34 games. He averaged two points in 3.9 minutes in those games.

"I appreciate everyone at Missouri," Stone said. "From my teammates and coaches to the fans and students, this past year has been a great experience for me as a student and as a basketball player."

Tyler played high school ball at Central and his dad played for Memphis back in the late 70's. We however did not recruit him out of high school. We'll see what happens...

TYLER STONE
Averages?
hope Memphis high school coaches pay attention to these things...
He is transferring a day after EW left for good... He's the size player we wanted to transfer here... he's from Memphis .... his dad played here ...

Those sure are a lot of coincidences!
Is he transfering to Memphis?
Who's his dad?
he would have to sit out a year...but i think he would get some good PT in 2011.

come home, young man...

Go Tigers!!!
Drew
his dad is James Bradley

kid has good listed size. only played 43 total minutes last season.
yep...young man only played 43 minutes last year...in those limited minutes, he scored 22 points...pulled in 9 boards...and even got 2 assists.

at 6'7, 220...COME ON DOWN!

Go Tigers!!!
Drew
not likely to get scholly, IMO
he's star rated around a Todd Mayo or say D. J. Stephens type player...and he's played a year under Mike Anderson.

why would he be "not likely to get scholly?"

Go Tigers!!!
Drew
Just because he is 6'-7" & 220 lbs, does not mean he is good. I am not saying anything about how skilled he is & I don't know the first thing about him, but just to throw out his height & weight - then say that that automatically makes him good - is crazy.
JMHO.......that's all.
If he can't play at Mizzou........likely can't play here.
Like I said, JMHO.
I'm afraid that there will be some terribly disappointed posters whenever we do land a transfer big man...anyone expecting us to welcome a guy who got major minutes and put up good numbers at a solid program can wish until the end of time.

not saying I think we should be in on Stone or that he should come here.

just seems that every thread about a player transferring is met with posters pointing out the negatives.
I really can't tell from what's been said if he is actually transferring to U of M.

REALLY??? Wow.
I'm free. And, I'm big. I guarantee I can get us 5 boards a game.

But, my game will consist of about 5 minutes, 30 seconds at a time. 03-wink

I thought the same thing.
Bring him in. Hes a local kid and could maybe help out off the bench. Its better than wasting a scholarship on a Juco who may not even pan out or qualify.
Shawn Taggart wasn't overly impressive in his one year at Iowa State ...he ended up alright.

If Stone comes, he will spend a year practicing with one of the most talented teams in the country and will be ready in 2011-2012 to make an impact as Coleman and likely Garcia and Witherspoon will be moving on.

I'm not saying he'll be a first team All-American, I'm just saying he could make a difference next season.
