When it rains, it pours? First Toledo had a mass exodus and now it seems that NIU is trying to beat the Rockets mark for offseason defections.

Seriously though, this is a big blow for NIU. DiNunno had a lot of critics, but when he was on, he was great.

Patton is a joke. No matter how much it costs to buyout his contract he has to go.
NIU has a very serious coaching problem.

Wow. The reaction by the CPL coaches is pretty bad for NIU's pipeline prospects.
College programs in Illinois have a hard enough time keeping the load of HS talent produced here in state with the plethora of schools recruiting Illinois. Pissing off the head coaches of the largest public school district in the state is a bad strategy.

What pipeline? We never had one
well, the difference here is UT fortunately has parted ways with their fraud of a head coach and brought in someone competent and trustworthy. most rocket fans don't mind him cleaning house and the guys leaving were mostly dead wood anyway. our coach K has a short recruiting window this yr, but i wouldn't be shocked if he can fill out enough of a roster to compete in the weak mac west next season.
NIU likely doesn't renew Patton's contract. Poor record despite some talent.
