According to the writer, UAB and Auburn were the dominant teams in the past, but it looks like Bama and North Alabama could be tough teams this season... sounds like a challenge.

Kick some bass, Blazers!
So exactly how does one determine the favorite going into this thing "A fisherman from the bama squad told me he caught one this xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx big last week in practice, so he is my favorite!"
I guess whoever has the biggest worm is the favorite.
It's because bammer went out and got some Five Star Recruits.
One of my best friends is on the UAB fishing team. He played football until he had two season ending injuries in consecutive years.
We have nothing to gain by playing the lesser programs in the state, and aren't in the business of propping up their programs.
I root for the fish.

its not how deep you fish, its how you wiggle your worm that counts
Good luck, Blazers! Beat the crappie out of those other schools!
I heard the UAT team has developed a new tactic for fishing that may give them an edge.

This is how the Blazers do it. No fishing gear required. 04-rock

BTW, these guys are doctoral students in the UAB School of Hydromolecular Fission.

Get it? Hydro. Fission. Bwwwaahahahaha. 03-lmfao

+1.
Northwest-Shoals Community College was in first place after the first day... But UTK ended up winning the event. UAB finished 17 out of 23.
Damn,
We got our asses kicked. It is obvious that we cannot continue to underachieve at this pace. We need to get our poundage up considerably. What seems to be the problem? Are we lacking in Texas rigged worm fishing department? The guys having trouble with their crank baits? Maybe need to do more pre-tournament fishing to scout out better areas? I want some answers goshdarnit! Maybe if we knew who the coach was we could put his ass on the hot seat for this.

It appears that our Fishing Team facilities are inadequate enough to drop from Division 1 or drop the program entirely. The boys on the fishing team don't even have a proper locker room in which to change. Our guys boats are aluminum, with a bolt on trolling motor, an undersized evinrude motor that smokes a bit, and (GASP) the team has to use WOODEN Paddles! Heck our Athletic Department can't even afford that new spider line. Our guys have to use the old monofilament from recycled fishing rods they bought at the salvation army. 05-stirthepot
Bammer has the Black Warrior River.
UNA has the Tennessee River.
AUM has the Alabama River.
Aubie has all those fish experts on campus.
Heck, even Central Alabama Community College has the Coosa River.

What have we got? Village Creek. :muttering:

Once again, we get shafted. When do we get our river?
I think I can arrange for us to use the Coosa River in Gadsden. I have connections with the city. I can start a UAB Bass Booster club in the area as well.
