Supposedly, terms have been reached between Tim Floyd and UTEP and he will be announced today as head coach.
I guess they stuck their toe in the cheating pool with Barbee and decided to jump in completely with Floyd.
I wonder what they do when the NCAA comes back with a "show cause" letter.
It will keep UTEP on the map though.

According to ESPN, Andy Katz reported it this morning.
After his campaign at USC, I can't get a good vibe for UTEP on this hire...I hope I'm wrong, it was actually fun having them as rivals and as an up-and-coming conference power.
And Davis drops another notch on the "CUSA coaches with the most baggage" list.
I bet UTEP will do well with this hire, cheater or no.
Is Auburn or Utep better off, or both? I think both bettered themselves.
When Floyd was coming up he was an Asst under Haskins.
I think it's a great hire for UTEP. Floyd will take them to the next step and be able to recruit well.

This was a stupid hire and I hope the people who hired him at UTEP crash andd burn from their stupid decision. He may be a good coach and they may win under him but he is a liar and a cheater. Nothing else to say when it comes to Floyd. But thats ok, Ill remind him of all his mistakes next year when he comes to Bartow.....poster ideas are already in the works for that game.

If Eustachy learned his tactics from his mentor, Tim Floyd, you can expect Floyd to come in and run several players off like Eustacy did when he was at Southern Miss.

I do not understand where Moultrie and Culpepper would be expected to go. Caracter clearly only had a one-year contract anyway (would love to know the terms). So UTEP still has one more good year in it. Sure, it'll be on probation before too long. But Floyd can coach, and he's got good players.

Yes he can, although I think his system, which is very different than Barbee's, will be a tough adjustment of UTEP's players next year. Right now I only see Memphis and possibly you guys making a 64 team tournament next year.

Let's remember that Floyd has only been accused of wrongdoing. It has never been proven. It's very possible that the guy who said he saw Floyd give money to Guillory is lying to the FBI and IRS.

So why did Floyd quit USC without putting up a fight. Looks like the actions of a guilty man to me.
