Congrats to Butler!

The 3rd school from a mid-major conference in the last 5 years to make a Final Four. George Mason 2006. Memphis 2008.

Mason made it to a final 4 and was wiped off the floor. Memphis made it to the title game. Can Butler win the NCAA championship? They are playing practically on their home court in Indianapolis.

How does it feel for MAC schools like Kent State and Miami when Cleveland St. and Wright St play in a conference where a final 4 was made?

Looks like the MAC may finally be out of its doldrums. Don't be surprised if we don't have one or two Sweet 16 teams within the next five years. Elite Eight? That might be asking too much, but now-a-days players aren't so intimidated by the school names on the jerseys, so who knows? Especially as some MAC teams are beginning to get some talented players reminiscent of those around the turn of the century.

i agree with you in that i, too, think the MAC has turned or is turning the corner relative to the NCAA tournament. i think we'll see more success in the very near future. i'm excited for all of us! 02-13-banana

Perhaps the BCS could take a page from the outstanding underdog performances of March Madness, and give us a damn football playoff.
