UTEP coach Tony Barbee has taken the Auburn job.
According to multiple sources, Barbee has agreed to take the job to replace Jeff Lebo at Auburn.
Barbee was 82-52 in his four-year tenure with the Miners and he led the team to a 26-7 overall mark and a 15-1 record in Conference USA this season.
Barbee, on paper, was expected to return nearly his entire team – which lost to Butler in the first round of the NCA tournament. However, sources told FOXSports.com that Derrick Caracter will likely leave for the NBA.
Barbee takes over a Auburn team that failed to get to the NCAA tournament in each of Lebo’s six seasons at the helm.
